lol just looking around and apparently people say "if it has a infinite in the game it sucks". Someone has found out that Zero can do an infinite in the game and its pretty easy. Also someone has found an easy infinite using Geese lol

Tonnes of games have infinites, but there is a simple solution: before you play a tournament on it or whatever, just tell the person playing that if they use an infinite they will have their eyelids glued open and be forced to play a mixture of Legend of Success Joe and FIght Fever for 24 hours solid. That'll be enough to persuade them  Kaz |

lol everyone uses infinites...in all the tournament vids ive got of mvc2...if theres someone using ironman they ALWAYS ALWAYS try and use his infinite cuz its so easy lol. Ive done it by accident before so you cant really say dont use infinites...its like saying dont use the fireball with ryu

Yup,same here. I see them all over the place but i don´t pay attention to them to practice them. I alway like to use to good old 1,2 combos. |

i don't quite agree with that tier list (are the people in the tiers in order?)
Akuma and Iori are some of the easiest characters to beat, and this is when GOOD players are using them. One of the few really good people that hangs at my arcade has been trying to beat me with iori for the past week, but my ken (my best character) gets him every time.
however, his dhalshim is almost unstoppable.
In my experience at least, that tier structure is a bit misleading. Ive seen the best chun-li players get killed by ryo, seen people own like hell with tessa, and seen someone with a TWENTY FIVE win streak with Genjuro.
I dunno, the tier things just irk me in most cases, though in the case of a game like MVC2, well there is a clear set of tiers:
MVC2 tiers -
Tier 1 - Characters you will win with
Magneto
Storm
Sentinel
Iron Man
Cable
Dr. Doom
Tier 2 - Characters that you will not win with
All others.
MVC2 is, in the words of someone i was playing in snk v capcom today "Not just broken, it's just one big glitch made into a game"
I havn't had any people try infinites, but no one picks any bosses around here besides demitri. If i see someone using an infinite, i just won't play them or i'll learn the infinite and do it against them.

i don't quite agree with that tier list (are the people in the tiers in order?) In each tier there pretty much the same...but a vet/advanced tournament player will use either of the top ones because the characters are more powerful you said you seen a chun get beat by a ryo...probably a noob chun then because shes known to be a top tier...the god tiers are god because they have infinites and there simple...you probably havent figured out how to do them yet cuz your not "advanced" You missed cammy and cyclops |

lol cable is nothing like cyclops...cable has a fat gun and can pretty much own anyway from the other side of the screen

well they are both shitty beamers, in a shitty fighting game so enough about that.
anyway, i wanted to say...you were fucking right about chun-li. WTF, we had like 6 REALLY and i mean really good fucking people go against this guy who was using her.
I beat her one round, and someone else beat her a round. That was it, it was pure dominance by chun-li and here's why.
1. Her supers take off way too much damage even when blocked. They tap off about 1/7 of a life bar and both offer really no retaliation strikes.
2. Her Desperation move is way too easy to hit. I hit the guy with Kens desperation, and then jumped in for an attack and he pulled chun-lis desperation out his ass like nothin and whomped me.
3. She just has too many really good special moves and has a much higher air success rate than other characters.
we had all types going against the chun li fuck. Terry (done by a guy who does fighting game tourneys), Ken, Kim, Mai, etc. etc. and we all knew every single move use and how to use our respective characters...
but chun-li is just too fucking powerful. And that really pisses me off because i hate using chun-li and dont want to be forced to use her to defeat her.
