www.snkplaymore.co.jp/There was a very nice update to snkplaymore and the kof2k3 official site. There are details about the SvC ps2 port, apparently the only special modes of the game will be Survival & Gallery. (  i was hoping for a team battle mode dammit) On the kof2k3 main site they only have the art of the team we've already seen but there in some storyline info for all those cool peeps that can read japanese or dl the language packet

Man, those character arts are such a tease....it's killing me. By the way, the metal lsug section has also been updated with the system section....a cool artwork of the new slide funcion is also in it.   |

The PS2 info of kof 2k1 says that they put in 3D backgrounds.
I thought the backgrounds were 2D?

I've read that they're 3d also but Kaz has seen the game in action I believe & he said they're 2d.

Nice update, gotta love that KOF artwork!
Yeah I played KOF 2001 and although the backgrounds have been redone they are not proper 3D at all... more like much higher res 2D. Certainly not the same thing as the backgrounds in KOF 98 and 99 on the DC anyways.

A coffee shop near a street. Terry was nowhere to be found.
Two strong guys sat outside the shop. One was a kickboxer. The other was a pro wrestler.
Joe: Don't just sit there. Try the tea!
Griffon: No.
Joe: Then just take off that bird mask.
Griffon: This isn't a bird! It's the mask of a griffon!
Joe: Hey, I don't care!! Take it off already!! Your stupid mask is making me look stupid!
Griffon: It's a hero's responsibility to be noticed by other people.
Joe: (Terry, Andy, where are you guys? I need a hand here...)
Of course, Joe normally loved getting attention. However, this kind of attention was more
akin to being part of a freak show than the typical attention you'd expect from fans.
Kid: Wow!! Griffon Mask!! Can I have your autograph?
Griffon: Haha! Sure.
The happy kid noticed Joe after he got Griffon's autograph.
Kid: Hey... um, could I have your autograph too? You are the GREAT NINJA MINAMI, right? Didn't
you lose to Griffon Mask at the last title match? I heard you've become his servant~
Joe (interrupting the kid): Kid. Listen to me very carefully...
Kid: Ye... yeah?
Joe: I'm the great one that...
?: Hey, so you're the GREAT NINJA MINAMI! ...Heh, sorry I'm late.
Joe: Ack! Terry! You're late! Don't do this to me ever again!
The ever charismatic (and tough) Terry was standing there.
Terry: Hey kid, next time be sure to address him as "Mister," or else he might turn you into a frog
with his ninja skills!
Kid: OK... I got it!
Terry: You got their signatures, right? I need to talk with them about something important. Go play
over there for a moment.
Kid: Okay.
Joe, who had become a powerful ninja, was already very annoyed. He ordered aligator steak (which
really troubled the waiter), and Terry simply ordered a coffee.
Terry: Take it easy, Mr. Minami...
Joe: You're not bad at handling kids. I'm kind of jealous.
Griffon: You just don't know how to love 'em.
Joe: Mind your own business.... hey, where's Andy? He's going to be in this year's KOF, right?
Terry shrugged.
Joe: Hey hey, what's with that? ...So Bird Mask here will be Andy's substitute?
Griffon: Not bird. I'm Griffon Mask.
Terry sipped his coffee.
Terry: Yep. Remember Andy's young apprentice?
Joe: Apprentice? Oh, that something something-maru kid.
Terry: He got sick.
Joe: .........
The illness didn't affect Hokotomaru's life too much, but to Andy it was a far more complicated
matter. Due to this, Andy didn't want to leave Japan at all.
Joe: Dang. For being a sensei, he's gotten too soft.
Terry: Don't talk like that. You wouldn't believe how hard Andy pushes him. Japanese people call
that... er... was it "Koshi-Kondo" or something?
Griffon: Koshi-kondou. A word that describes a beautiful relationship between the master and the
apprentice. Your brother must be a great person.
Terry and Griffon shook a hand together nicely.
Joe: Heh heh. Let's become good friends. Wanna know more nice Japanese? "Atchi ike kono bus~!!"
("Get lost bitch!") Try that.
Griffon: Heh, "atchi ike kono bus'?" What is it? Well, I heard the person who opened this year's
KOF was Japanese. I'll remember that when he announces the champion.
Joe: Hehehe... I'll remember to tell you more beautiful phrases from the Japanese language later.
Terry finished up his coffee and began talking once again.
Terry: All right, then it's settled. All three of us are going to be in the same team this year. So, let's
do our best!
Joe: I'll be fine as long as that Bird doesn't do anything funny.
Griffon: I'll be fine too, as long as I can fight fair and square.
Terry: OK! It's all good. I'll go visit my dad's grave.
Joe: ?? You're going to pay a visit?
Terry: It's important for me. I always do that before I go to a tournament. Sorry to trouble you, but
could you guys wait for me?"
Joe: Are you kidding me?! Don't leave me with the bird here! I wanna go too.
Griffon: I'm not a bird... I'm Griffon Mask.
Joe: Shut up! 'Bird Man' is more than fitting for you!! Bird man, bird man, bird man, bird man~
Griffon: That's GRIFFON MASK!!!!
Terry looked up at the sky.
Terry: (Dad... how should we go about it this year?)
Joe: Shut it, bird man! I oughtta pluck and eat you!
Griffon: You should still your tongue. My name is Griffon Mask!!!

There's something else that have been confirmed: SNK Playmore today updated their site with some info on SNK Vs Capcom For the Playstation 2 and King Of Fighters 2003 for the MVS. First off, news about the Playstation 2 port Of SNK Vs. Capcom; the game will feature a Survival Mode, as well as a Gallery Mode. The game will also have more characters selctable, than it's MVS/AES counterpart. In regards to King Of Fighters 2003, SNK Playmore have put up the art work for the Fatal Fury Team, as well as their Story (which is in Japanese). In other news, the Metal Slug 5 Site was also updated with some details on the "Slide System" and the AES ver of Samurai Shodown was dated (11th of December btw). But they really should insert Andy in KOF or else i'm gonna kill someone.

WE NEED NEW BLOOD!  and they should put Jae Hoon or Dong Hwan in Korea Team 2k3... ! ;D |

Nah, my problem is all the cheap made characters they insert in it.
Like K9999, Ramon, Kasumi, Angel, Robert while Ryo is already in there, Kusanagi and the dumbass clones, Seth, Bao and more of those fake ones......
Man, they can place so many great SNK characters in there, Wasn't KOF 94 orginally made to make an all SNK cast get together tournament?
Come on, there's so many great fighters in the SNK line up............

Yes, the kid must have thought Joe was Andy, but I don´t think Andy will be beaten by Tizoc!! And yes, it seemed like SnkPlaymore was a little bit unimaginative when creating K9999 and those Craps. |
