Actually yeah I think it is... I jumped the gun a little cos they said it was for the Region 2 release, so I assumed they meant the UK release... but I forgot Japan was region 2 as well... lol Kaz

Hopefully we get that too, but I hope that thre is a choice... I like it in black and white to tell the truth.

I didn't mind the black and white, infact i thought it was implemented well. But i didn't like the thought that i was watching something that was not originally intended by Tarantino.

I don't care either way. Plus I can understand the japanese spoken in the movie so I don't need subtitles

I think Tarantino might have actually wanted to do it in black and white... he likes doing stuff like that anyway. During that fight the music that plays is ripped from an old Samurai film (I think) so its kind of a nod to that sort of thing, and it goes back to colour when Uma blinks after she goes back up the stairs, so it's not as if it was rushed through at the final minute to please the censors (although that might have played some part in it). I remember seeing the same scenes in black and white when I watched the teaser trailer, and that was before anyone even knew it would be in 2 parts, so it must have been planned for some time. Speaking of "not the way Tarantino wanted it", I think its already like that anyway... he saw it as *one* movie, until they saw the opportunity to make some extra $'s Kaz

^ Tarantino even mentioned on an interview i read that he was forced to edit it. The fact that the screenings he was showing in sneak previews and such that i read about before the film was released plus the scenes in the original trailer i saw (in later preview's it was changed) where in color but where in B&W when i went to see the movie shows that it was a forced thing. Also i don't think its a coincidence that the screen switched to B&W right before the really gory scenes like the eye gouging and ect. ;D
All that aside though i did find the B&W scenes artistic and a really good way to avoid having to cut parts from the film. Kinda sucks how the Japanese release got the original cut yet from many things i've read (one review by an english speaking critic that lives in Japan mentioned that 75% of the folks walked out on the film and thats something that rarely happens in the country) the movie wasn't even liked that much in Japan.

Yeah, it kinda doesn't really match her. She should stick to those tight jeans and short jackets alone.
