Some here might not remind me, I'm a mod here at the boards and a friend of Kaz's :-)
I'm going to talk to Kaz when I see him on #neo-0 (EFNet, for those who care), but in the meantime, I'd like to read everyone's 20 cents on this matter.
I want to, along with Kaz, hold a little contest here at neogeoforlife.com
The Winners would receive neogeo gaming collectibles (posters, mouse pads, wall scrolls, stuff as such - prizes to be determined later on).
Basically, contenders would need to create a full-size arcade marquee, making it freely available in its unmodified form, and it'd have to be SNK/NeoGeo-themed.
Be it game-specific, a mix, collage, whatever comes to your mind.
Size would have to be 54cm x 13cm at 150 ~ 300dpi (so it could be printed and used by people who own arcade / mvs cabs, etc)
The reason I came up with this idea is that many NeoGeo games lack decent full-size marquees, and the ones who do are hard to find.
So what does everyone think?

Wow, nice to see you posting here again dude! Sounds good, and I have an idea... will speak to you on IRC in a bit when I get time and I'll talk to you about it. I'm game for doing a competition again anyways - I wanted to do another shock box competition earlier this year but I couldn't get enough cash together for a prize. I'm sure we can sort something out now though Kaz

HOLY POP UPS......it´s Daemon. I bet that by now you´ve build an entire TOWN filled with Ed209´s and T1000 replicas.SWEET HELL ;D Welcome back dude. It´s been too long. Now if we could get in contact with Gou who´s been missing in action all of a sudden and the circle is complete again. The idea for a marquee is a very good idea. Not that my artskills are orgasmic but still..... I WANNA COMPETE!!!!!! By the way, peeps. Concerning prizes.Maybe you´d like to take me up on this. I have the entire cartset of the SD KOF 1994 cartset. I can send it your way for throwing into the competition priceset. It´s 100% perfect condition and very rare. I´ll make some scans of the carts to show you what they look like.

seiryu!!! :-D Long time no see man!
I havent had much time for modeling lately, so unfortunately no ED209 :-(
I did get three arcade cabs in the meantime though, including an MVS board and (ahem) SvC: Chaos PCB :-D
About the prize: if you can, send me those pics, more prizes = more happy winners!
Buddhakun: 54 x 13 cm at 300dpi equals to 6378 x 1535
While the same thing at 150dpi equals to 3189 x 768

Seiryu: You really wouldn't mind putting those things up as a prize? That would be pretty cool, but only if you are ok with giving them away Anyways, one thing - how would we go about judging this competition? It probably wouldn't be a good idea to do online voting like I did with my last competition, so would we get a panel of judges? (like the mods here or something) The only problem with that is obviously anyone who is judging won't be able to enter Kaz edit: decided to sticky this thread

I think the panel of judges should be the mods here. I was thinking about the mods + my brother, who could be helpful as well :-)
What do you guys think?

Marquees are the things on top of arcade cabs that display the title of the game and also sometimes movelists. As for the panel of judges I know I'm not entering so I wouldn't mind being a judge

So all we need to do is a big fancy image with a game title on it ?

LMAO, a lot of confusion here. Maybe we should re edit the thread and make it official with also an example for the ones that want to know more about a marquee. About the card collection, Kaz. It´s fine by me, bro. If it makes another fan very happy (and i know it will ), i´ll gladly donate it. The judges being the mod squad and ....eh,...that snk-whore spammer admin we got here lately. ... plus one post, by tehhh way. is the way to go. After all, this is a ngforlife contest ( i don´t have a problem not entering, this leaves a change now for others to win seeing i was tehhh most awesome victor from the start)
. This also looks like it´s going to be the contest that´s going to start the new NGforlife decade that´s headed our way.

Welcome back Daemon, its been a while.
As for the contest, sounds like a great idea...if you guys need prizes or anything I may be able to scrounge up an MVS cart I don't use, I think I have a sengoku with an MM.
