SNK Playmore has revealed the first images of it's upcoming PlayStation 2 beat'em up, King Of Fighters 3D (tentative name), as well as the next instalment in the King Of Fighters series, King Of Fighters 2003. SNK Playmore did not go into detail about both games, but did comment that KOF2K3 would no longer have the 3 on 3 battles that were present in King Of Fighters 2002. In regards to King Of Fighters 3D, they revelaed that it would be released during summer 2004 (Japan). Source: www.phuck-ign.com, because real source is in german

Nice. It's looking pretty good. But one on one fighting seems so bizarre after all these years.

No more three on three.... I guess they should switch it up a bit though.

imagine this: [aquarium] [tv and ps2] then.. a jerk threw a can of soda at me while i was playing i docked/evaded the "attack" can hits [aquarium], [aquarium cracks open] ~seawater~ and fishes spill all over me, tv and ps2 me gets a cut from the broken glass, i run to the bathroom, soaking salty wet. tv and ps2 gets at wet... short circuits, sparks all over the place... 30'' tv and ps2 is now destroyed... sad story aint it btw- the jerk paid me only half the price of evrything, he never went over my place ever again... me now plays DC and the crappy xbox, and of course, my MVS

Wow....
That really sucks. Might as well get the new ps2 model that has one chip for both processors. Doesn't have the fucking weakass moving parts that cause it to eventually fall apart. Mine hasn't yet but I'll definitly get a new model when it hits the states.

KOF 2003 to be 1 on 1? Isnt that change a very big step? I admit that am not very happy about that, the 3 versus 3 was one of the main things I liked about KOF. Im gonna find it very awkward. Ive got a feeling that KOF2003 is gonna be similar to how SNK vs Capcom is laid out.

The first ps2's made in all regions have two chips. One for the ps1 driver and one for the dvd/ps2 driver. Because of this the ps2 has moving parts it has to utilize to switch between the two and eventually wears down and can no longer read discs. You can ship the ps2 to sony if it ever dies and they will fix it for free(you will have to pay shipping though, and have not removed the black warranty sticker on the back). A few months ago however a new model of the ps2 was developed with one chip that can support both processors and thus increase it's lifespan greatly. They look exactly like the old models and I think there only available in japan at the moment but I'm hoping they'll bring them to the states. There is also a new model called the psx that looks totally different and supports CD-R's. It's more like an actual dvd player but it's a waste of money if you ask me because it doesn't have mem card support.
