Sweet trailer including lots of gameplay footage for each playable character: nf-cht.myweb.hinet.net/omn4-1.zip US release, March 06 Tis a must for Onimusha fans. Seems the characters look even goofier in this game and the story line will most likely be even worse then the crappy one (imo) in Oni 3 but!..... It doesn't matter cause the gameplay will kick so much ass. After Castlevania COD & Shadow of the Colossus this is pretty much the only single player game i'm looking forward to play for the ol ps2. If you check the ps2 release list for the year of 06 it's quite easy to see the effect the ps3 is gonna be having on game production. (it's basically dry as a bone, seems we'll see no more games from the big franchises)

Downloading that now, thanks for the link man! I'll be looking forward to this one! ;D
If it matches Oni 3 for gameplay then I'll be very happy!!!

Definately something to look forward to. With Shadow of the Colossus, Finall Fantasy xii and Onimusha 4, it looks like i'll be spending a lot of time on the ps2 next year.
I kinda liked the goofiness. It gave the games more of a unique fantasy / comic book vibe to it. Capcom seemed to have nailed the gameplay down as well. Chopping up zombie samurai and crazy oversized demons has always been fun.

Well it's mainly the boss guy with the fan that had me make the goofy coment. The dude that was beating up the zombie on the ground with his fists made me lol.

Those very unsual Street Fighter cameo characters in Onimusha 4, that's what.

Anyone that's still trying to decide wether to get the import or not... do it. Interesting how it's taking so long to come out everyone else considering the import has english subs & dubs avaliable. I've been playing it for about 4 hours now and i thought i'd drop some spoiler free feedback... For those that may have been hoping for the return to some dark survival horror (like me) from the first two Oni games, it isn't there. It's pretty much straight action now but with even more RPG elements then all of the past games. The characters seem a bit light hearted and quirky almost straight out of some anime production. (atleast they're interesting though) Considering the giant robots and characters flying (while not in super sajjin mode mind you through the air, all together it's way more flamboyant then the previous games but still seems to fit together better then the time traveling bull skeet in 3. I know i'm not far but the puzzles and overall difficulty seem easier then the last games. I'm not sure if i like the overall gameplay so far but atleast it's a shit load better then all the generic action game crap out there.

I think i'm about half way through the game now and it's only getting better. It's still quite easy, but to be fair so were the past games. With it being more action packed i'd think even people who wanted something quicker in the past games would find that they like this.

Got the game but still not played it yet... got a load of games piled up at the moment that need to be completed, and as far as action games go I still have DMC3:SE as well. Not sure which one I will play first, but probably Oni 4 as obviously I've already played DMC Kaz

Finally started playing it, although I haven't had much time with the game yet. I just finished stage 4 and I'm enjoying it a lot so far, although I must admit that at this moment in time I prefer Onimusha 3.
This game definitely has a much different atmosphere, and although I prefer how the first two games were atmosphere wise, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Gonna go carry on with it now anyways... did you finish the game yet?

One of my friends that has already beaten it told me i've still got a while to go still. I actually stopped playing it about 4 days ago and haven't picked it up since. I'll say one thing, it never got anymore difficult.
So, how bout that rediculous character that's always hanging from something like spiderman even when it's unbelievable that they're is something around to hang from ;D
I know i haven't beat this one yet but here's my opinions on the series:
Gameplay: Oni2>Oni1>Oni3>Oni4
Story & Atmosphere: Oni2>Oni1>Oni4>Oni3

Oni 2 possibly is the best one though. I'm undecided really. Kaz
