The madman cafe has a newsaflash about Sammy vs Capcom and the latest King of fighters 2003 to be released on the atomiswave. Some say it's the end of the neogeo decade....what's your opinion on it?

OH YEAH! hi-res KOF games! but surley.. the NEO that we all love will never be forgotten ;D not to brag but.. i'll prolly be able to get that new kof when it gets out.. we (our resort/arcade place) just bought an atomiswave with GGXX... ;D Sammy vs. Capcom... puhleez knowing capcom... they would prolly release 7 different version of the same game (eg. sf2).. but it would be cool to see Shin Gouki vs. Justice... oh the CHEAPNESS!

So if this comes out spring of 2004 do we not a have a KOF this year? Damn... As for that Sammy vs Capcom I doubt will ever see that happen since that would be just another MvC2 clone.

well, this is melancholy news for sure.
But Sammy Vs Capcom? What the hell? Sammy has only made the GGX games right?

Well... there is a least one one other game that sammy could incorporate into that called Demolfist. It's a beat em' up game where you do the typical stuff but you can also use supers like in final fight 3.

I think I am both happy and sad that kof2003 will be on the atomiswave. Happy that it will be a great move for SNKPlaymore and that the move will revitalize the kof series . Alas, as a supporter of the MVS, the fact that the kof2002 will be the last that will appear on the MVS saddens me...

Im happy that it will mean better graphics quality for the next kof, but i agree with lichtenlade that its wrong to leave the MVS with 2002. (yuk) Hope fully SNK-Playmore doesnt make all its future releases on sammy boards, i mean what of all the faithful MVS owners. Hopefully they keep releasing new games later on the AES for goodness sake.
As far as Sammy vs Capcom goes, i like guilty gear and all but it's not something i would anticipate

I was gonna post this when I got back from work but you beat me to it dude I have mixed feelings about this, but in the end (and as I much of a Neo Geo fan as I am) I think that this is for the best, and also VERY inevitable. The only thing that irks me is that KOF 2002 is now going to be remembered as the last KoF on the Neo Geo, and although that is a fun game it is hardly the "stellar" game that we might have hoped for. When Trieu first mentioned a while ago that he had heard KOF 2003 was confirmed for MVS, I was hoping that it would be the last game in the series for the Neo Geo platform, and that it would go out in REAL style. Anyways, if they truly do make a GREAT KoF for Atomiswave, then I guess I'll feel a lot better. I really think the series has gone as far as it ever possibly could on the MVS, so hopefully they will be able to move forward and make something really special on the new hardware. Seeing a hi-res KoF with some new gameplay features will be pretty amazing in my opinion, despite what the total die-hard nuts would have you believe. I'm as big a Neo Geo fan as anyone (as the people that know me would tell you), but we have to move forward. Although I'm sure that we'll see at least a few more MVS titles, I guess this is the point where our favourite hardware really does go into decline. It had to happen sometime and although it is sad, like another person said, we have to remember the last 13 years of fun that Neo Geo has brought us. There are still well over 100 games out there to play, with some being the very best 2D experiences that you can find anywhere. Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, Mark of the Wolves, Shock Troopers, Metal Slug, the older KoF's... the list goes on and on 1990-2003 (maybe 2004?) - NEOGEOFORLIFE!!![/b] ;D ;D ;D Kaz

Well, happy about new, better Graphics for KoF!! But they shouldn´t leave the MVS! That´s rude man. Sammy vs. Capcom? Hopefully it´s gonna become even better than CvS2! No Button Smasher! That´s all, good bye.....

KOF 2003 is gonna be MVS afterall... see my post above. But we are still going to see a Sammy designed Atomiswave KoF.

So there is actually going to be two completely different KOF games made within the next year.
one on the neo, and one on sammy's board.
*froths at mouth*
and sammy vs capcom should be sweet if its like x-men vs capcom was. that game rocked hardcore.

I love the Capcom vs. game, so the mere possibility of a new one gives me a semi, but why does it have to be with Sammy: the GGX games are shit. Pretty, but shit.
