en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gp2x• Dual CPU Cores: ARM920T Host Processor - ARM940T Video Coprocessor • 64MB - RAM & 64MB - NAND Flash Memory • SD Card Compatible for Storage • USB 2.0 High Speed Connection • Linux Operating System for Open Source Development • 3.5' TFT LCD Screen @ 320*240 (QVGA) • TV-Out for TV connection (640x480 amplified from 320x240) • MPEG, MPEG4, DivX 3.11,4x,5x, XVID, WMV,MP3,OGG,WMA,JPG, BMP, PCX, GIF Playback • Supports e-book, games, electronic dictionary • Free Emulators for SNES, NES, GB, GBC and GBA, Sega Mega Drive, Master System, Spectrum, C64, Atari, PC Engine, MAME, MSX, Neo Geo Pocket, Game Gear and more • Continuous Playback (8 Hours Video) (14 Hours Audio)When looking at those specs, I am starting to wonder why I should even continue bothering converting movie files or running homebrew software on my psp. The GP2X has everything I'll ever need. A bargain price too, it seems.

Nice and it's not too expensive either. Are there many people out there developing GP2X homebrew stuff? By the way, someone released a media player for the PSP recently, it doesn't run too well right now but hopefully that will eventually be sufficient to play divx etc etc without the need to convert. Will need a way to run homebrew first though... Kaz

Nice and it's not too expensive either. Are there many people out there developing GP2X homebrew stuff? At this point I didn't run into much yet on the GP2X forums. There is this game development list but at this point it's mostly listing emulators. It plainly mentions "Neo-Geo"... hmm...

Nice . It has 64mb of ram too, so it could probably run a few of the medium sized Neo Geo games, and I would guess that it could do a CD emu as good as the one on the PSP. Would also be nice to have a handheld where homebrew is supported, and isn't an underground thing where you have to reply on people exploiting the firmware to be able to play stuff or run other video files that aren't normally supported Kaz

ya, GP is good for the homebrew community, it gives them a chance to showcase thier skills just like wonderswan, i hope they launch some hombrew competitions, support it cuz of its emulation capabilites too, which is nice.... i just hope we get to some more decent offical games. mainly what the GP32 lacked.
