I am thinking about importing a NTSC AES machine to Europe. I know i will have to get a stepdown converter to convert 220v to 110v, but my question is what else to think of? The TV must support NTSC but will i get color using RF-modulator or do I need to get atleast A/V composite cable to get color instead of black/white?
Greetz,

Welcome to the forums If your TV supports true NTSC then you will be ok no matter what connection you use... for instance, I've used NTSC systems (eg PSX) through standard RF on my TV and it works ok... I have a Sony Trinitron widescreen, which I bought specifically for NTSC stuff, as my old Toshiba DVD player needed it as it was from the far east and didn't have a scart socket. Composite scart won't do you any good either if your TV doesn't support NTSC, only RGB scart will work (provided your TV has an RGB scart input). I've never owned an NTSC AES (I collect MVS stuff) so I haven't tried it personally, but I'm sure it would be ok... you'll just have to find an RGB scart cable for your system. If you want to be sure, ask on the tech forum at neo-geo.com as there are a few people there that use NTSC systems in the UK. You could also get an NTSC -> PAL convertor, but to be honest I would only use that as a last resort as you'll probably get fairly crummy picture quality on it. Hope that helps, Kaz

Thanks for the good and very fast answer Kazuya. I will post on neo-geo.com just to check with others that already imported NTSC systems to Europe, and see their opinions too.
Thanks for help and a wonderful site.
Kind regards,
DaddieC
