imo, your making a BIG MISTAKE... WHY??? Why did you get eh Gamecube version??! okokok, im sorry, it's just that im a Dreamcast/Sega-fanboy anyways, Ikaruga is a milestone in shmup gaming , one of the best... games ever..!! the simple game system is both easy for begginers and challenging for advanced levels.... the gfx are GREAT imo, just perfect for the genre, not to mention, it has an intriguing backstory with great concept art to boot Treasure's finest imo... just be careful of level 4, damn hard shit!!!

I'm crap at the game to be totally honest, but I really do need to setup my DC again and have a blast on it! The graphics are amazing, the music is great, and gameplay wise it is very good and the system they use is interesting. Btw, what difference (if any) is there between the DC and GC versions? Anything new added to the GC? On a seperate note, I still want a remake of Radiant Silvergun dammit... wish I still had my Saturn! Kaz

Hullcityfcmad sent me a copy a while back and tbh it's awesome. I have slowly been getting into shmups again and Ikaruga will always shine bright Doesn't help me being crap at it. Anyone here see those videos of that guy controlling both ships at once and completing it without dying? (I saw him die once )

I love this game too, and I am also crap at it. Best shmup I ever played, although it is a very untypical style of shooter ... more like a precision score challenge puzzler than an out and out mindless blasterthon IMO, although it can be played that way too. Sad but true, I was tempted to buy a spare 2nd hand TV just to tilt sideways so I could play it in it's full screen vertical beauty.

Have the cube version myself. I love Tresure games although Gunstar Heroes is still my fave.

I liked it as well but i only played it for a couple levels. It's cool but from what i can remember it wasn't too challenging. I probably just didn't play it long enough to get to anything really good. It's on sale for only 10 bucks for the Gamecube near my house, i'll probably get it when i get my GC. When i played it before it was on the Dreamcast but unfortunately i don't have my DC anymore

bah, screw you guys, DC rules!! (forgive me, im not serious ) anyways, the GC version has added modes, but still is pretty much the same, on another note, the Title screen has a different artwork... and, i suggest, to use a Tate setup for playing Ikaruga, having your TV in horizontal position is Just not RIght! hehe...

Any other good shooters I should know about?? I was looking at my games collection the other day and I have no shooters, i need to remedy this...
I have Strikers 1945 plus, Blazing Star and Shock Troopers for my MVS Candy Cab. But my Cab is still on order so I havn't even played these yet!!
I mean what are the good Shooters on either SNES, XBOX, PS2 or CUBE?? Raiken mentioned Gunstar Heroes, What platform is that on??
