Just wondering if any of you are into the Wipeout series? I remember when I originally bought my Playstation in 1995 (WOW was it really THAT long ago??), Wipeout was the first game I bought for it. I've always loved the series despite thinking the past couple of games were a bit average (especially the PS2 version), but I just got the PSP version and it really has reminded me of how much fun I used to have on the original Playstation version, as well as on Wipeout 2097.
Anybody else play Wipeout?

Yes, I used to love wipout 2097 It was one of the best games I had played on a playstation at that time. Loved the soundtrack too so I wentout and bought the Album, quality beats......havn't played it in a long time If I was to get a psp, wipeout would definatly be one the games i would get for it. Kaz, whats the music like on the game..

I liked the series from day one , Ive never been all that great at any of the games ,but they are fun to play and have a great sense of speed plus the physics { if thats what you want to call them } feel right for this sort of game. I still play XL on my PS cabinet and Fusion on the PS2 on a somewhat regular basis, I think it is one of those series I will always enjoy playing By way Harv ... you should change " hes on the Green " to " hes on the Gleen " lol gotta love SNK engrish ;D

Kaz, whats the music like on the game.. Pretty damn good - it really isn't my type of music, but the type of stuff they put in all the games has always suited it perfectly. Can't remember exactly who did the music, but if I remember right it's got a track by by Aphex Twin amongst others. Although not many people would agree, I actually think the original Wipeout was the best one, which is why I am loving Wipeout Pure because the handling seems like it's a cross between that game and the sequels. I got the first Wipeout for the Sega Saturn, but it's hardly one of my favorite games. Could be the bad conversion of course. I'm more for conventional racers anyway, so when it comes to the psp I am holding my breath for GT4.

Yeah the Saturn version of Wipeout was pretty poor in comparison, bad frame rate if I remember right and I think it was even missing some music tracks due to the ones on the PS version all being by bands that are signed to Sony Music. I'm also looking forward to GT on the PSP though - I really hope it turns out well. This release delay has got me a bit worried about it for some reason though Man this Wipeout Pure is frustrating the hell out of me at the moment... at times it's ridiculously hard, but that's the way I like it. The CPU seems to love hitting your craft with a constant barrage of missiles etc - it's always a bitch to be on the straight on your last lap, only to get overtaken and finish third cos the bastard behind you hit you with a rocket MUST... GET... EVERY.... GOLD... MEDAL!!! Kaz
