Ive not long got one of these seens as i had to sell my Xbox

At first I was definately against these but I needed something to play at work and with the PSP nearly 6 months away I couldnt be bothered to wait

Got the DS anyway and it is absolutely wicked. It does everything the PSP does AND the PSP cannot do everything the DS does

The touch screen is amazing mainly for FPSers (Metroid, GoldenEye ect) and for the RPG's comming out it will be insane (Nintendogs, Final Fantasy 3, Crystal Chronicles ect)

If your into art aswell its got a great pictochat in the main menu where you can chat and draw pictures. This will be great when the wireless net comes out for DS in october!

One of the best things about the DS is multiplayer. You dont need to all have the cart now. If one person boots a game up and someone is near you with another DS you can use wi-fi to play without your friend having the game. Some games also allow you to send demos to your friends like Polarium.

I also got a Movie/Mp3 player last week which is one of the best things ever. It allows you to crunch down DVD movies and stick them on your DS. The quality is also very good as are the MP3's

Theres no doubt the PSP has far better graphics than the DS (given) but the DS is a new experience in handheld gaming. All PSP has done is shrunk the PSX and half the PS2 in your hands with a 5 hour battery life. What are the chances you are gonna take it outside? I would rather play a PS3 (which will nearly be out by the time PSP comes out)

With the PSP there are a few problems.
1. The UMD disk pops out when playing!? Look into that
2. The games are Region free but DVD's are not? be careful Importers
3. Controls are too close to screen
4. The button they fixed may give you problems in the future so they say
5. It costs more than a PS2!

Im not saying the PSP is crap because i will probably end up getting one but the DS is a definate must have for you handheld gamers and for £100 and the games £20-£30 you cant go wrong

the second screen is touch-screen, and that feature rocks!!

my lil bro got one. at first the whole dual screen thingy is just some sort of gimmick to me, but when i tried it myself, i started saying "aw shitties this is way cool!" lots of times while playing metroid ds demo and the super mario ds. it's a whole frickin' new way of playing games! i started to think how come this concept wasn't implemented back then.

you just gotta try it to believe it... especially on wario ware touched (which i plan to buy in the near future) ;D

I want one of these badly but I'm still holding out for when we get some more colors available. Importing a graphite black is too expensive for my tastes.

I do like the DS, and will buy one eventually (especially for Castlevania), but at the moment the PSP is the better machine for me personally which is why I imported one. You can argue that the stuff on the PSP currently is all re-hashed unoriginal stuff (which is true to a certain point) but I'm a big Ridge Racer and Wipeout fan, and I do like the look of Lumines and Metal Gear Acid, and then with Gran Turismo on the way, there's plenty of stuff to keep me going.

1 - never had that problem or even heard of anyone saying that??
2 - If you buy the Japanese PSP and are in the UK you should be sorted because they are apparently using the same regions as DVD's - and Japan is region 2, so I'll be able to play UK UMD titles. The film companies demand that everything is regioned anyway, so Sony had no choice in that one.
3 - Seems fine to me
4 - I have no problem with the square button on mine at all... works fine and doesnt need to be pressed hard to make it work.
5 - That one is true... hence why I imported because I haven't really paid any more than what I would have done had I waited for the UK release anyway. It is a lot of money for a handheld though I'll give you that.

That looks like the guy is twisting the PSP quite heavily... I tried it a little bit on mine and nothing happened... but then again I wasnt gonna start doing it too heavy cos I don't want to break my PSP

thats the thing with the PSP...some games you have to handle it hard...its the same with the DS. I have a fair few scratches on my screen getting pissed off with wario ware lol so i imagine the same is gonna happen to PSP users and thats why that happens sometimes

Yeah but when are you going to twist it round like that? If you regularly do that sort of thing with a £179 handheld, then you are either plain stupid, or have more money than sense. Granted, I chuck my PS2 pads across the room, I've even bit them in an act of sheer frustration once or twice and I've even stamped on the damn things, but there's a big difference between a £20 controller and a £179 console. I mean hell, I've got stuck on bosses on certain Neo games and been so frustrated I wanted to throw my Neo stick across the room... but I never did it because those things cost too much to replace, and are a lot more rare. I just contain my anger, and if someone can't do that with something so expensive then that's their problem

Anyway... at no point during actual gameplay would you *ever* have any reason to twist your PSP round like that, unless I'm missing something?

As I said though, I had my Neo Geo sticks for years and have never once hit them or thrown them across the room in any way, even when I have been tempted to. They are worth too much and have too much personal value to do something like that, and the same goes for my PSP. If you knowingly chuck stuff around, or twist a PSP so heavily that the disc pops out, then basically it's your own fault if it breaks
