I've brought this game since release and did not see this post here sorry guys
Yeah this game is stella, possably one of the funniest things you can do while playing this game in Vs. mode with to select a randomly created custom character using the parts that you have either unlocked or brought in the shop which I think is a very nice touch. Most of the customly made characters generaly have the own move sets (which are differnt from the orignal characters!) and more can be unlocked by playing the Dragon Force style mode called 'Chronicles of the Sword' which FORCES you to create a hero just for that mode!
The fighting itself is never going to beat Viruta Fight or the King of the Fighter series but as Goemon mentioned before me, it's definatly a lot more balanced than the previous games. proberbly the most balanced since the first title anyway which is soul edge I'm talking about here!
I do happen to like all the new characters that Namco have put in to this game and I really like Tara, always nice to play as a death cultest in a fighting game heh. There are the three main story characers as well as a truck load of 'Misc' characters that get used in the various story modes and other special events. There are also plenty of traditional special characters with some returning faces like Lizardman, Rock and Yoshimitsu(! spelt wrong) and the like as well as some newer characters to which I won't spoil.
Over all this is a brillant game, not to differnt compaired to number 2 but then again if it 'ant broke... I would buy this if you have the cash to splash but if you're a little tight currently (like me after going on a huge game buying rampage) then I would suggest not buying it or waiting in till it hit's the "platium" department.
