Yeah if their appeal fails, then they'd have to totally stop manufacture and sale of the PS2 in the USA totally, although I'm sure that something will be sorted out... I bet that company would make Sony pay them a shitload of money to get the injunction removed or something. Messed up stuff though, glad it's got nothing to do with the UK... edit: just noiced... injunction against the use of the PS2? That mean people in the USA won't be allowed to use their PS2 anymore? that's totally messed up... infringing patents? what a joke! it just means the US economy is getting so low they want to limit foreign competition so that the US-made [sarcasm]"quality"[/sarcasm] products will have a chance in the market. it just means if sony profits, japan profits more than the US. just look at the car industry... foreign cars are expensive so that cruddy american cars gets a good share of the market. american cars hardly stands a chance against the japan and euro beauties... just look at the news about the faulty Ford SUVs... most models recalled because most of the models' engine suddenly catches fire for no apparent reason.
now i don't know if anything i'm saying has great relevance! ;D i may just be frustrated at the bush's administrations' actions economically like the gas prices going up!?!? that just means they can't get oil cheap from middle east anymore!
pardon my propaganda-like post. i frequently write these things as a school newspaper editor back home ;D
what will happen to the PSPs?? i hope they don't put extra tax nor raise the prices on sony products (the california tax itself makes buying a bit harder already...)

i may sound evil, but, i was hoping for Sony to hit mard time at some point, just like every normal VG based comapany, everyone experinces a "mid-life crisis"..
i wouldnt worry bout it that much, cuz SONY has thier electronics, which is still selling quite ok, to back-up the expenses on thier affair...
just wish that Sony recovers and becomes more careful cuz of this...

Last I saw you only needed to change 20% of anyones design to get youre own patent { my cousin has a few patents in the Motorcycle industry } so Sony was probably straight up ripping these guys off and just hoping they wouldnt do anything about it, like most major companies like to do. If you cant design it , then steal it seems to be how most companies tend to be when it comes to high tech. Nice to see it was finally ruled on after 3 years of drudging around the system, nothing like the very speedy ,fair and just US Justice System... pfft right ..... ;D

The idea of moving to a foreign country just to play PS2 doesn't sound like fun.
