this was posted by me in the emu forums- "after much hours of playing SS5 i officialy claim it nearly unbalanced 2 hell Play a match between Rera & Yoshitora and you'll see how fucked up things really are" I still feel the same way about it, its just a pain in the ass to have to hit both a+b to do a strong attack (especially with characters like enja that don't have a sword it becomes crutial to pull a quick strong attack) instead we have a useless charge up/dodge button, hanzo is not as good as he used to be imo along with many backrounds that for some psyco reason snkp decided to downgrade them and take away little things that gave them their charm... For as much anticipation i had i am quite dissapointed, its bad enough there's only 7 new characters yet 3 of them are so close a take off's from other characters like Rasetsumaru, Enja & his watery counterpart its barely like having a new character at all just a new sprite with old moves. (im not even counting the bosses cause just like snk bosses of the past they're not fair to use in a human vs. human match therefore count as nothing 2 a compeditive player like myself) Also the old characters have the exact same sprites and moves, some have had a little change but not in a good way same as the backrounds... though i appreciate the few new music tracks and art my closing comment on this game is it made me remember how much i truly love SS4

Good feedback,Goemon. Don't really have anything else to say then it's the same way i think about it.
The new characters are a nice welcome, but other than that........mwue. I think the playability has even become a little worst than what we were used to. The controles for one thing, are a real pain.......i really don't like the new button setup.

I managed to finish the game w/o continues ! (but i cant seem to finish it using gaira, this game is soo scrwed-up ) anyway, i used Kyoshiro... he kicks ass, actually, his frog does look at his ending: i was like WHOA! Hayate and Todoh?!! i'd thought i'd never see these guys again , now this was a surprise lolz, here's my scoring: i know, BOA ;D (i use that name on EVERY arcade game i play.... and i still see at the TOP, four BOA's in the Hiscores in a KOF2002 machine near us ) well, as you see, i finished it around 12mins, and i reached the boss at around 10:25mins, still dont know if there will be a difference if i reached the boss in less that 10 mins... well, im off to beat Gaoh using Gaira , and i sure hope i eventually finish it ;D

To tell the truth I have not has as much chance to play this game as I would like, but overall I do like it a LOT. With the button setup, it doesn't bother me at all as I am used to the SS2 setup where you have to press both slash buttons for a hard slash anyway. I also prefer that they have either merged slash/bust characters into one or made them into seperate characters (eg Evil Haohmaru). I'm liking most of the new characters so far, although I do agree with everyone on the fact that Yoshitora is very overpowered. He's one of my favourites now, but it is a shame that if you pick him in vs play people will always accuse you of being cheap . The bosses are a bit lame though. The first sub boss a joke, as he is almost just Genjuro with a hammer and some cheap ass strikers... I especially hate the one that comes across the floor and grabs you, while he eats some food that tops his health back up. The second boss didn't give me too many problems and I beat him first time, but the final boss sure as hell got on my nerves. One tip though - when he turns into the big horned thing, just keep blocking until he goes back to normal, then jump in and finish him off with a hard attack. Gonna go back to playing this game later, after a long playing session on SvC for the PS2! See the other stickied thread if you want more info about that... Kaz

Does anybody who played a buch of SS3 know if Kusareqedo's bg a rehash cause that shit is absolutely beautiful imo and id kinda be shocked if playmore did that one. Kyoshiro's bg also deserves an honrable mention, the only thing im really pissed off about is the ruining of the burning town/bamboo forest/Beach bg & Mina's bg is quite under par imo.
The more i been playin this one i been startin to soften up 2 the gameplay. I play with a keyboard so it isn't too hard to pull off the strong attack and as i been comparing this game very closely with SS4 these last few days other than the case of Yoshitora im starting 2 like the game overall & getting my skills just as fine as in SS4.
...Sankuro... that.. dirty sick fuck... i think i hate this rat bastard more then any snk boss in recent memory... Cheap as hell stryker usin mofo...

in judging ss5 on the whole, i can't sum up my thoughts any better than what pops up every time i fire it up- ultimate samurai shodown 4. four new characters, a handful of what are essentially palette swaps, and a few new/tweaked backgrounds constitute something more of a revision for me.. and its really not that bad of a thing. the gameplay's still there so i can't say i don't like the game, i just think the series lost a lot of its charm at the expense of such minor additions.
at the end of the day samurai shodown 6 had better be something mind-blowing. hi-res on atomiswave, a crossover with the last blade.. some new direction actually worth the sequel. with the character selection growing rather stale, i'm hoping snkp starts over fresh, garou-style, keeping only yoshitora and mina (c'mon sammy, let's get involved hehe).

You´re right Goemon, Sankuro is a dirty asshole, his Strikers are Shit!!! And then he gets back so much Life from his Food, damn. And Yoshitora is really the cheapest one, even cheaper than the Bosses!! Look at his A+B Slash Attack, damn, 5 Hits!! Not cheap but hard to beat is the Girl that plays like Ukyo! That´s cool. I´m also very impressed from some Backgrounds. How can I get the Ending?? Only in Arcade Mode?

LOL, it's no girl...that's a pretty boy. You should have known by now, since it's SNKP's new trent to go fruity on the characters these last new games.

......he kicks ass, remember. By the way, i've been playing with Suija, the unleashed version of Sogetsu. And he's really cool to play with, all his moves are air moves, plus he really is an improved version of the bust version of SS4 Sogetsu.

yeah, Suija is kinda cool to use, but Enja imho really reeks , im having a hard time to connect his qcf+C... im currently playin with Yunfei now, he's a bit annoying to use cause you must take advantage of his flyin' moves, BUT, for some reason, Kyoshiro rocks in ss5,

I don't use Galford very much but I find he plays particularly well in SS5.

I don't use Galford very much but I find he plays particularly well in SS5. I always love using his bust version in SS3 and 4. Far better offencife version than his regular slash version with Poppy. It´s a shame they didn´t insert his bust moves in his SS zero reincarnation.
