And what are People, who say: "Capcom owns Snk", searching in this Forum??   ;D You know, I think the same thing sometimes when I'm on certain forums on the net - I don't mean anyone in on this forum as I know everyone here does like SNK games, but it does seem a lot of SNK haters just post on Neo Geo forums to rile people up. Anyway, going back on topic, I guess we all have our own opinions, and no-one is really going to change their's. To sum up my feelings, I have to say that although I love Capcom stuff and have done for many years now, I still believe that SNK make by far the best 2D fighters. Capcom were the kings years ago when they bought out the original SF2, but SNK slowly caught up with them and now I think their games have way better playability... a lot of Capcom stuff relies on flashy gfx imho. Besides, when was the last time Capcom even released a 2D fighter? The main thing I hope for that Playmore leaves behind the MVS hardware some time in the near future, or at least starts to develop some games for other platforms. I hate to say it and I'll still buy Neo games as long as I can, but they need to move on as I think they have maxed out the Neo Geo already and I don't think games can get much better than they are already on the current hardware (and I don't just mean in terms of graphics either). For myself this is very easy to answer The SNK games have a certain quality feel to them overall and the art work speaks for itself ;D Now Ive never been a huge fighting game fan overall and thought most of the Capcom stuff just plain sucked ,again figthers really arent my thing I do however love the Samsho series to death and enjoy playing them ,even though I really suck  Ive never been to much of a KOF fan ,but recently was able to get a bare KOF 98 from a friend and have been trying to get into it. The art work in all the SNK releases had a nice flair to them that was all SNK [to bad those days will never be again] and as Ive said in the past the Hardware is awesome in that the sheer game variety alone makes the Neo worth owning ,even if alot of the games are flawed. I think thats part of it all aswell ... gotta love Engrish ! ;D |

I totally agree Candycab, there's a certain charm in SNK's complete lack of respect for english audiences that brings a smile to my face whenever I see the butchering of our language.  |

It's just that SNK games have this knack to it.
I've always loved the anime-ish style of the games.
The cool sprite designs of blazing star for example.
Or the funky games like Magical drop and puzzle bobble.
And the goofyness of metal slug.
They're all so eyecatching to the general anime/gaming fan.
The fighters are also over the top with the moves and the way they look and sound.
Plus snk games usually are filled with the cool engrish or regular japanese voices and yells........totally lovable.
It's totally japanese.
And most games have a lot of ingame jokes or wacky character relathed scenes.............for me that gives the games that little bit of flair that makes it come out more realistic and kinda gifs the impression that the characters really are a litle more lively and realistic in mentality and character behavior.
SNK really is for the true into japan stylish gamer and 2-D videogame fan.
