Anyone playing it ?
I just grabbed it lastnight... So far it's not all that different than the the last installment ,though I didnt expect it would be
A nice minor graphical smoothing overall and heaps of new cars and events ..although most of the cars seem to be econo type cars that most people { myself included } will probably never use,but more variety { or at least in this case is a good thing } I like the way they let you transfer youre A & B Liscense plus 100,000 in Credits from youre GT3 save file ... Sure made jumping right into the simulation game more fun.
One thing that still sucks is they were never able to come to any agreement with Porsche or Ferrari for liscensing .. oh well at least there are Ruff cars in the game
Im still dissapointed they never gave the game any damage modeling { in any of the series } though they did tweak the cars physics alot from the last version.. now if you slap a wall the car and youre vision sort of shudders for a few seconds and the car gets very loose , I like the realism they tried to implement toward power oversteering/understeering ...definitly a plus ;D
Having a owned a few Porsche 911's over the years ,as well as few high HP front engine rear drive cars I can say that the snap transition from one to the other genuinly feels pretty correct
Overall Im pretty happy with the new game ...I didnt really expect much more than what they did put out so for myself this is a naturall progression....... Now when Forza comes out I may still have to buy a damn X-Box ;D
For the curious folks out there ,I started my new game with a 1989 R32 300zx 2 Seater and blew a good portion of my 100K on handling goodies and HP mods ;D
My single major complaint with this game and #3 for that matter ,is the automatic Traction and Yaw controlls .... WTF ? since when does every car on the planet old new or in between have Yaw and Traction controlls ! Its more of an annoyance than anything since there is no way to just be rid of it other than turning it off on every car in the game individually.... This gets really old really fast.
I suppose its a way to make the game more playable for people who suck or want training wheels on their mega HP cars....To those people I say ..go play the arcade version ;D
One more thing for those of you who are playing #4 ..If you race and win the second rally course { Capri } you get awarded a Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car that is worth $265K. The race is very easy with a fairly mild car and you can do this as many times as you want just to sell the car for the dough... Happy Motoring ;D
Anyone else have any comments on GT4 ?
