OMG!! Ganryu, Bruce, Jack, Wang and Anna are back! Where they in Tekken 1 or something? I only started playing Tekken with Tekken 2 and as far as i knew they where new characters. |

I only started playing Tekken with Tekken 2 and as far as i knew they where new characters. i started playing Tekken thru T2 too, so i've no idea just played T5 yesterday and so far, it plays pretty nice. never played long though; they were lots of people playing and when i got the chance to play, i got creamed in an instant. feels a lot more balanced compared to T4 from how i feel the T5. |

Bought the game today
Finished the story mode once with Feng Wei
I love the game, great gameplay, the backgrounds are beautiful, the OST is pretty good too, they fit well with their stages
When you start the game, you can play Starblade while its loading (but the loading isn't very long) and the arcade ports of the old games are there too

Got myself a copy too. Like I said earlier it's broken but I must say the graphics, extras, etc are quite nice otherwise. A good number of the people started playing it despite my predictions so I figured what the heck.

I'll have it in a couple of days, can't wait!  I'm really excited about getting it, but in a way I'm almost as excited about the old Tekken games being on the disc too... it's just a really cool extra, and it's something that will add an aweful lot of replay value. Are they PS1 ports though, or are they arcade conversions? Kaz |

Can't agree more! I was considering pick up T1 or T2 just for nostalgia value anyway, but seeing as I was gonna get T5 anyway, I don't think I'll bother. Seeing as this game also has a Virtua Fighter 4 Evo style quest mode, another Tekken Force type game, T3 and Starblade all in there, I have to say this looks a mightily complete package. Maybe they should rename this "Namco Museum/Tekken 5"? 2 thing though: it's probably a daft question, but do the old Tekkens also have their arranged soundtracks from the PS1 versions? And are there any other crazy game modes like Tekken ball in there too? |

The old Tekkens are straight arcade emulations from what I can tell, so they only have the OST's... tis a shame but pretty much what I expected really. Speaking of music I'm really digging the music in this game (got it today). It's mostly fast paced in your face techno, but every track really suits the game and its respective stage, and it's far better than the T4 soundtrack. One piece of music I love is Moonlit Wilderness - that one really sends a shiver up my spine it's so good. Think it might be worth seeing if AFSExplorer can rip the music off the disc ;D As for bonus games I don't know of any apart from the Tekken 1-3 ports and the Tekken Adventure game. You can only play a minute or two of Starblade while T5 loads to be honest, unless the whole thing is unlockable later on? Kaz |

Yep, from what I've read elsewhere, Starblade IS an unlockable feature! I can't wait to play this either, with force feedback on the controller and everything! Gonna pick up the Pal version when it comes out ... initial dates said June, but Amazon now claims a September-November date is more likely. Why the huge delay? Makes me MAAAA-AAAD!  |

im hooked in this Game... i was NVER a tekken fan, but after palying 5, i kinda loved it  i used Asuka and Raven hehe, Asuka is cool, her counters are nice, and Raven is teh shitsz, BLADE!! haha... too bad i have no PS2, but the arcades is where true action is  |

Asuka is the same as Jun in Tekken 2/Tag... and Jun ruled man! ;D I've been playing as Asuka quite a bit actually. Not played as Raven much yet - I finished the game with him, but I've not really got into his fighting style yet. Cool character though. The only disappointment for me is some of the voiceovers, anyone else feel the same? The characters that speak in Japanese/Chinese are fine, but when you hear Law talking in English with that ridiculous accent, it really does sound dumb. I didn't like the way they made Pauls character in this one either to be honest, and his voice makes me cringe a bit. It's even worse when you hear Raven talking to Kazuya, and Kaz is speaking Japanese while Raven is talking in English... what were they thinking?? Kaz |

Paul sounds too intelligent in 5. I preferred it in 3 when his entire vocabulary consisted of "durat" and "osu!". At least he still has that stupid winpose where he swings his fist at the ground then puts his hand together. What the hell is he doing? ;D
