The singleplayer game is hillariously fun to play. Those marines are twice as funny....grab their bigger gun to swap with and they really start ranting on your ass. Plus the sarge is funny a hell also. You now also can jump in the back and man the gunturret instead of just driving the wardhog, which is great. I love that you also play some parts of the story as the govenant elite to see it from their point of view.

All i gotta say is i didn't much like the first one (and that's after playing it a whole lot) but the sequel is so balanced and fun it could possibly be my fav. console shooter ever.
I can't wait till it gets ported to the pc and Gearbox does a better job then they did porting the first one.

I'm waiting for the PC version so I can play it with a mouse. Lik-sang has a mouse and keyboard box out for the X-box now. Not sure how well it works but it may be worth a shot. My 2 cents on Halo in general.... great console shooter but nothing more than the standard run and gun in the PC world and I see no reason why 2 would be any different. FPS games have gotten incredibly run of the mill in the PC world over the last few years Even HL2 has succumbed to the FPS monotiny. I still dont own an X-box simply beacuse there have been no platform specific games created for it that I fell are worth playing let alone dropping a couple hundred bucks on. Forza may change that though, Ive played with the demo at my brothers house and it looks like a pretty sweet simish racer so far, Fable is interesting aswell ..but way too short.

I'm curious about how advanced is the AI in this. Hl and just about everything else claims to have enemies with insane AI but they always seem to be stupid and just stand there taking my bullets while I strafe around them. The best I ever saw was the grunts from half life since they ran away, shot at you from long distance and forced you out of hiding with grenades. Their pretty easy to kill even on hard though.

I agree HL is still the most realistic Ive seen in a SCI-FI game anyway. The origional Half Life did actually have a pretty decent AI that hadnt really been done prior, the Marines in the game did use some squad based tactics and could be a real bitch to kill and those 3 legged dog things would retreat too pack up with a few others then actually hunt you down. Always loved whackin crap with the crow bar in that game I think AI is the only thing in the FPS world that hasnt been fully exploited yet ,but it seems to me that the developer would really have to put alot into level design so the player even notices anything different about the AI and that just doesnt seem like its happening these days. Basically Im thinking that even in these games that have "SUPER DUPER AI" lol ;D hose themselves with crappy design and so the enemy guys just sort of hop around and dont do much that we havent already seen or done in the past, therefore they come off as the usuall bullet resepticle

I gotta say that so far from what I have played of it, the AI in HL2 doesn't seem anything great at all. Still a good game though I think, although the main plus point is that the gfx are stunning in places, especially with regard to the level of detail and the lip sync (the facial movements are great).
It's nothing incredible gameplay wise though, but it is worth playing. I still wanna play Halo 2 more though when I get time.
