I love both games, but never read the manga. I didn't play the 2nd one as much, but I remember when the original was first released on the PS1, to say that I played it to death would be a HUGE understatement. Gotta love the tag team super moves Kaz ps I also know a few people who hadn't heard of Kyosuke until CVS2... they don't know what they are missing

DAIGO!!! R00LES!!111!!1!1one!
Still Roy was the uppercut king, i think he´s one of the finest uppercut characters ever made, practicly all his punching moves were all round well usable. not to mention his uppercut special...man, i love that move.

Roy looks like a Terry Bogard from garou clone. You mean the other way around?Garou came out a bit later then rival schools. Unless you mean Project Justice...then i´m not sure what game came out first. DAIGO FOR EL PRESIDENTE!!11!!1!!

The Rival Schools series is easily my favorite fighter ever! It was the first fighter to actually have a good storyline; it had some memorable characters (Daigo, Shoma, Boman for example) and it had some deep, addictive gameplay (although team-ups had too much priority).
There were actually 3 RS games (4 if you count RS 2)
Rival Schools: United by Fate Rival Schools: Evolution (upgrade) Rival Schools 2 (the first appearance of Ran and Nagare, and a new board-game type mode was added)
and finally.....
PROJECT JUSTICE!!!
