Yep im anxiously awaiting that myself ;D Mostly for Narc and Xenophobe ,which is damn near impossible to find in its origional arcade form and very unfavorable to own since Williams sound boards are horrid pieces of hardware that die in record time. Generally Im not too much a fan of these types of releases since 90% of the time the control is a complete joke on most console controllers, I do own a few of them for the PS and they are great { Namco releases are probably the best out of all of them } In my PS cabinet they do a pretty decent job of the real deal with the exception of a few games like Sinistar and Spyhunter ,actually just about all of the Williams versions lack decent control but are livable ,the Atari Vector games are almost perfect though Im actually in the process of wiring a PS2 into the PS cab .. just picked up the connector so its time for surgery when I get a few spare minutes and the drive to get my hands dirty I think a side bye side A.P.B. comparison may be in order if all of this works out ;D

All the ports (or emulations as I think they actually are) seem pretty good, although some people were saying the sound on MK2/3 is a little more muffled compared to the arcade originals due to memory limitations on the PS2, but it sounds ok to me. I had forgotten how much of a cheap bastard the CPU in MK was though, it's a real pain in the ass Hard Drivin is cool for the memories if nothing else... I remember playing it in the arcade and on my old Amstrad CPC6128 (in all its black and white glory ) and i used to love it, but obviously now it seems really aweful. It doesn't help that the control on PS2 analogue doesn't work as well as the steering wheel in the arcade version though... but then again I used to play it on the keyboard on the CPC and I was actually really good at it ;D Kaz

I picked Treasures 2 up yesterday [PS2] ,it was a whole $20.00 which makes it a must own for everyone who likes the older stuff. Its pretty decent but still has alot wrong with it. The sound is complete trash on almost every game ,its really muffled and some games are actually missing alot of the audio alltogether { the whole music and voice tracks are missing in Rampage ,after playing more I noticed the music seems to come and go when it wants too with lots of harsh scratchyness } There are some pretty bad gameplay bugs aswell. Hard Drivin actually works very well but its buggy ,so far I have had a random problem where the graphics tear and the car falls into the planet then just tumbles all over the place and never recovers, thats happened everytime Ive played it. I noticed in Rampage there is no diagonal movement at all ,which there should be. Pit Fighter is unplayable since it runs about 5 times faster than it should. There is analog support in every game but its pretty useless since you have to throw the stick all the way to get any movement on screen. There are some cool behind the scenes video clips for most games ,but they fudged that up aswell. Some of them have so much background noise you cant understand the speech which pretty much defeats the purpose. they also added flyers that you can zoom in and read ,that works pretty well. There is also a really good quality Area 51 trailer that I had never seen before in the extras part of the disc. Suprisingly A.P.B. is really good, a bit hard to control at first but after playing for a few minutes its fine. Other than the sound being crap overall all the games look to be really close to the origional roms and play accordingly .. Still a great buy at $20.00 ... cant beat $1.00 per game

Yeah I have noticed some bugs in HD myself, and I heard a few things about the race against the Phantom Photon (this was his name right? getting messed up sometimes, but I haven't got good enough with the analogue stick on that game to get to race him The other games did seem ok to me, but I haven't played all of them yet. Gonna have another blast on it once my PS2 comes back from the repair shop Kaz

So in a fit of boredom or I like to think of it as old school gaming fun ;D I made level 625 on Gauntlet II [with something like 42 million points] then gave it up.... I had owned the cab for a number of years and only once played it to level 252 over about 10 to 12 hours ,resting once or twice for about 25 minutes and a few non gaming beers ;D with my charachter sitting in a non shootable portion of the screen. Still one of the best multi player quarter munchers ever in my opinion the suck part is after the 50th level the maps start to loop predictably ....... Great game , I liked Alien Syndrome alot too but the hardware can be problematic .... Pretty hard to beat Gauntlett II in its execution though since there wasnt much you could do that they didnt get right the first or rather second time around. I think that was one of the games that NG.com member Dojosky's uncle worked on when he was at Atari back in the old days I should add that I didnt do this in one sitting ,this was done over the last week or so and paused while away from it... lol hope the fan in my POS2 is still working ;D

Damn man. Now that's hardcore lol ;D I have heard stories over the years that the game will go to 999 then roll over ..no idea if it will ?, I seriously thought about going all the way with it since I was pretty close but I started getting the itch to play Total Carnage What really amazes me is that when I would start playing again I would pound 3 or 4 hours out at a time and never really got bored I guess mindless blasting never gets old and golden gameplay is forever

Gunstar Heroes got to the point where I could beat it without batting an eye so I attempted without a gun. Not only was this hard as hell but I learned you can really slaughter some bosses if you know how to use your melee attacks.

WTF? They are realising that lot ?? gimme link Kaz, might have to go abnd buy another PS2 for this lot Well you dont have to buy a PS2 unless you want ? since it is also available on X-Box and Gamecube and so far from what Ive read none are really any better than the others ... Guess it really comes down to what sort of controller you want to use ? I have the PS version and its great ;D Just put midway Arcade Treasures 2 in google and there are tons of reviews out there to read

Melee attacks? Were they like the HCF+Fire and sliding tackle attacks? Yes that's right. I use nothing but the sliding and jumping attacks. It's possible for about 98% of the game. For the part with the space ship I try to just dodge everything.
