i know aof hasn't been very popular but do you think there could be a way to raise its popularity by making a new game for the franchise? what do you think?

A new AOF would be a very nice welcome. I would love to see a new generation AOF version in the spirit of Garou.
Mix in an older Ryo and it would be gaming heaven for me. LOL....a more mature version of Yuri would also be...............ghuuuu*drool*

I'd love a new AOF, I think if they tweaked the aof3 fighting engine a bit they'd have a kick ass game...however I know many people who didn't like aof3 for that same reason...so if there ever is a new AOF it'll probably be in the same engine as garou.

Transitions from 2d to 3d rarely go well but a Garou styled AOF sequel would look very nice IMHO.

hmmm... just remove RObert... and i'd prolly play it ;D
... but a 3d Aof, in VF4e style , might not get the fan's approval

Well, I doubt, they will bring out a new AoF! As they would sure bring back FF, before AoF, as this Game was more popular. And if so, we sure would have to wait another 1-2 Years.

IMHO I think if ANY SNK game should go 3D, its AOF. Thats the perfect transition game, in 2D they fight like they have sticks up their asses, but they'll fit right in with the VF4 engine.

Seeing as AoF was one of the 1st Neo Geo games I ever played (perhaps *the* first back in 1992), I would love to see a new game in the series. I also think a new MotW/FF game would be more likely though... if they *don't* make another AoF, perhaps they could at least bring in a few of the AoF characters if they make a MotW2... seeing as they already have a Kyokugen student in there anyway. Hell, Ryo made an appearance in FFS, I guess he could do it again They'd just have to make sure picking Ryo didn't make the game ridiculously easy like it was in FFS though. Just try enabling him and completing the game... throw a few fireballs and you win Kaz

No. The series has failed to produce anything that wasn't both poor as a gaming experience and hugely derivative. The franchise is worth nothing and SNK would most likely be throwing yet more money away if they developed another instalment.

I think it would do it if they diched that charging up your power bar stuff and made it a more solid fighter in the gameplay style of KOF or FF. A lot of people didn't get into the game cos of the "realistic" style of charging up your power bar if you wanted to throw out a fireball or special move.
The characters are all good, they just need to boast up the fighting engine.

The franchise is worth nothing and SNK would most likely be throwing yet more money away if they developed another instalment. Sorry, I have to disagree with you on that one mate . AoF was pretty good fun at the time it was released, and it *did* introduce a few things that hadn't been done before... e.g power bars for your special moves, the zooming camera, etc. I also think many of the characters are very cool, I mean hell, they are still using many of them in the KoF series today, as well as in SvC and CvS. It does look very poor by todays standards, but back then it actually was decent. AoF2 I didn't like though because of the insane difficulty of the CPU, but AoF3 wasn't too bad... not great but still reasonable entertainment for a few hours. That game still has better animation than almost any other Neo Geo game as well, second only to MotW, although it is damn close. Anyway, as I said before, I'd still like to see another AoF game, but they would have to change a lot of stuff and make the game engine a lot more solid to make it worthwhile today. Kaz
