I saw Goemon post about playing this game, and I just got it myself and am quite enjoying it. I thought I'd post up a discussion thread for it, and also post a fatalaty list that I found at gamefaqs.com... I take no credit for this at all, but figured some might find it useful ;D

So, who else is playing it and what do you think? What Goemon said is right... if you like MK and loved the last game, then this is the game for you. I still say MK2 is the best one ever, but Deception sure is fun and has a hell of a lot of depth to it, especially with the adventure mode and sub games like Puzzle Kombat and Chess ;D

Holy crap, my friend is actually playing this for the Xbox as i type this pissed cause he couldn't find all the fatalities on gamefaqs.

I didn't really mean to come off too negative about the game, it's kinda fun and i liked it more then VF or DOA right away. Some things that piss me off are the falling damages and the fact that you can spend lots of time whooping somebodies ass and all they have to do is land one lucky kick to toss you into a stage fatality and win the whole round (fortunately that can be turned off) I also wish that the weapons wheren't so dominant. It's not that they are too overpowered but that they have a huge range so it's almost impossible to stand a chance without pulling out my own weapon or using projectiles.

Another thing that pissed me off... Ermac. It's just plain blasphemous to include Ermac in an mk game (every ninja created after Subzero, Scorpion, & Reptile was just a pure filler and a slap in the face to mk fans imo) and not reptile though Ermac is much changed from his umk3 self and is a decent character. Also i wish the alt. costumes for Scorpion & Sub-Zero where the old school ones from mk1 or 2.

Hmm... i think this post is starting to get too long but anything mk related i usually have alot to discuss about considering how much i like the series in general to this day. I've always wished i could remake mk 2 but change the sprites to be animated looking somewhat like snk style on the atomiswave hardware. Now that would be something great. ;D

Has anyone watched the extra videos showing the actors that played the characters. The guy who played Jax in mk 2 is fucking hilarious.

I thought the stage fatalaties that can happen anytime were a bit dumb, but I actually think it's one of those fun things that you should leave turned on in vs mode against friends... nothing better than crazy stuff like that to liven things up after a few beers ;D

I haven't watched those vids yet, but will do. I tell you one thing though - MK Chess and Puzzle Kombat are fun as hell... that's the sort of extras that I always cry out for in games . I really think that CVS/SVC should have had stuff like that, kinda like the mini games in the NGPC version of SVC.

Tell you what you can do though... stop someone from performing a fatality on you by killing yourself with a hari-kari move before they get the chance. Best addition to an MK game in a while that one is, so much fun to do it to an unsuspecting human opponent ;D

Hehe, i'm actually kinda happy Shang isn't in this one. Anyways one thing i gotta give this game, it seems quite balanced overall though i still can't quite get into it. Playing this game just makes me wanna bust out the old mk 2
