Way of the Warrior and Kasumi Ninja for 3D0. Oh, and Fight for Life on Jaguar. Fight for Life was supposed to occur in hell but somehow it's in a jungle instead ;D

The worst fighting game is sure one of these nes fighting games ports (unofficial ones) There was one for kof96 , SF2 , MK1,2,3 , Tekken 2 and more
But really the Tekken 2 one is the worst thing you can see .

Yeah seen em, they are terrible - they were all Hong Kong pirate games though, nothing official... I also remember a NES game called something like Street Fighter 2045, which was actually a horrible platformer with a robot version of Ken. However, I still maintain that all of those were more fun than that POS Street Fighter Fighter 3. At least they had the same entertainment value as Legend of Success Joe where you could laugh at how bad they were, which is more than can be said of SF3. That's a bad joke that is not funny Kaz Sorry... I just don't feel right if I don't rant and rave about SF3 at least once a week... I feel so much better now ;D. Hope Klarkus aint reading this cos he'll get mad again...

first thing's first. i am new here. i've loved fighting games and neogeo goodness for as long as i can remember, and am amazed to find a site like this. the reviews are grand, though i'm curious as to what you make of kof2003? i personally think its one of the best in the series, second only to '98. though that is my humble opinion, mind.
as for the thread, i remember playing in poland of all places, a game called "franco's crazy revenge" on the amiga. such a bad experience almost made me want to take life. has anyone else heard of it?
as for the music debate i'd probaby say kof'95 had the best score. since its the only fighting game soundtrack where the composers have really put some thought into the actual instrumentation of the pieces in order to enhance the backgrouds in general. something that becomes apparent when you think about the sound of the lone cello in the art of fighting teams' stage and the upbeat funk on kyo's background.
after that would come the soundtrack to the last blade games for pretty much the same reason.
as for capcom's music. for me its always been a bit boring and samey by comparison. as in virtually every game i've played it just boils down to small collection of catchy melodies done with a limited range of sounds. in other words game music being made in exactly the same way as it has done since the 80's.

Welcome to the forums and great first post I haven't reviewed KOF 2003 yet I know, but I do personally find the game to be very good. In my opinion it's the first time since 99/2000 that a KOF release has felt like a properly developed game and not something that was slapped together in a cut and paste fashion. KOF 2001 was ok gameplay wise but had HORRID music and gfx which really spoilt the atmosphere, and 2002 is good but over a period of time I started to tire of it, whereas I have never truly tired of games like KOF 98. But anyways, 2003 feels like a "proper" game and one that had some thought put into it, and it also has some great music and new characters as well as good fun gameplay (even if it isn't perfect)... definitely one of the best KOF's I think KOF 95 did have some great music yeah, and I'm a massive fan of the old school KOF's (pre 96). The old SNK sure knew how to make great video game music (while the new SNKP seems to be learning at last), but I agree partially on what you said about Capcom. As I said earlier in the thread, old Capcom music is fantastic imho (SF2/SSF2, Darkstalkers etc), but their newer stuff is horrid mostly. I think everything went downhill round about the time of MVC2, but they still occasionally surprise us with some good tracks. They must of lost their old composers though, as nothing these days really touches the best stuff from Capcoms older games if you ask me. Franco's crazy revenge huh? Sounds familiar, but I don't think I ever had that one for my Amiga... guess I was lucky? Kaz

I liked all KOF's except for 97. It was just an "empty" game.

All KOF's after this seemed to have lost that chain ability Maybe I am crazy but 97 was perfect for me. I hate KOF 03 because of no Kensou and cheap Duo Lon

For some reason i just can't get into kof 94-95. They remind me of SF 2 so much. That's not a bad thing but i just dig the unique gameplay of post 95 kofs. I like 97 better than 98. It just had a certain feeling to it. To me it seemed like combos were easy to execute and chain. All KOF's after this seemed to have lost that chain ability Maybe I am crazy but 97 was perfect for me. I hate KOF 03 because of no Kensou and cheap Duo Lon I actually feel that combo's keep becoming easier and easier to string together with each new kof. Kof 2k3 probably being the quickest and most button mashy one of them all. Though i loved to finally see a change in the gameplay i understand why some peeps where disapointed.

I hate KOF 03 because of no Kensou and cheap Duo Lon though i prefer 98 to 97, some of the comboes there, just like you said, were easier to execute in 97 using certain characters like Joe, Terry, and Yamazaki i've alwas been annoyed on some of Capcom's music too, for hardly any of their bg soundtrack seem to stand out at all. worst has to come from CvS2 in my opinion. oh yeah has any of you tried Deadly Arts for Nintendo 64? never actually played it but from what i've seen of it, it looks like a terrible fighting game...

deadly arts, eh?.. damn i hate it when i can't remember what those old forgettable titles looked like. n64 was such a bust for fighting games.. and there i had to go and get it. mace, war gods (or whatever it was called).. a certain game where you battled best of five with the cheapest cow known to man..
anyway, i've ALWAYS hated time killers. i hate it i hate it i hate it. i think the big deal was that you could cut off opponents' limbs or something. wow. it felt like -i- was playing without limbs, nothing you tried ever worked.
that machine always seemed to be next to a 'world heroes', which i thought was dated even back when i was kid (i'm eighteen now). oh and don't forget eternal champions and its ridiculous overkills. i remember reading about how gut-wrenching, mind-numbing, etc, the violence was and then i watched a dinosaur 'ravage' my opponent. ohno. although it was a nice concept. could be pretty good if somebody picked up the franchise today.
