ok ... jus tha other day i got my imported Japanese version of Capcom vs Snk 2, in NTSC ofcourse. When I am on tha character select screen and i highlight M.Bison his name is called Vega. Also when I highlight Balrog his name is M.Bison. And when I is highlighting Vega his name appears as Balrog . Wat kinda crap is that? All together there is 3 characters like this with the wrong name. Is this how the Japanese know there characters to be, by those names ? Or is it just a mistake of the game caused by mishandling or wat? *sigh* wat a rip off

even the jap version of SF is like that. My friend told me the reason that they change the names coz people in US would think that jap version of M. Bison (the boxer) is Mike Tyson so thats y capcom of US changed the names so they will be not accused of something illegal(or maybe capcom is scared of Tyson).

OMG, that name changes thingy in SF was is soooooooooo old.... anyway, That's right JJ, Capcom didnt want to get sued by the boxer, so thats it... so the Original names are: JPN - US Balrog - Vega (the clawed guy) M.Bison - Balrog (the Boxer) Vega - M.Bison (the Boss) DO NOT GET CVS2-EO well, if you a wimp, get it... it has an EASY OPERATION mode (like the begginer/easy mode in the MvsSF or MvsC1), for exaple, 2 rapid presses of high punch makes ryu do a hadoken... CHEAP... the only thing GOOD about EO is that they have tweaked P-Groove, its now alike the SF3 system, it has Super Canceling and stuff... but i'd Stick to the normal CVS2

I didn't even know the ps2 had itself an EO version. I thought Capcom only came up with that idea with the game's release on Gamecube a bit later on. With the Gamecube controllers in mind, EO actually makes sense lol.

Afaik, only XBOX and NGC have the EO version (i think), but i didnt know PS2 had them too... and yes, with NGC and Xbox's controllers, EO is a must ;D

I got it on x-box and apart from the EO system it's not so bad.
And as for the first question, that could be why some of the cheats never worked on SFA3.

You don't *have* to use EO though right? However I can see it being ap roblem if you play online and some idiot is using the EO mode so he can sit there pulling out moves with ease by just tapping one button or whatever. I'm sure plenty of people out there do that... is there a way to tell if someone is using EO mode though? As for the PS2 version being pixellated, I agree... and there's more jaggies on the 3D backgrounds, so in this case I stick to playing the game on my DC. Let's not have the argument about PS2 jaggies again though, that one is just soooo year 2000 Kaz

You get to choose before the groove select screen and can choose between Advanced (regular full control) and EO (which is either for kids or idiots)
It always has Eo as the default section which can be annoyig if you are in a hurry but then again you can set it to bypass the pretty screens and let you do it all quickly.

If only the ps2 wasn't so damn pixalated. Which is why I sold my ps2 version and got myself the xbox one. In Xbox Live, EO or not is a selection criteria in the optimatch settings. In other words, if you use optimatch you don't have to play against an opponent that uses EO if you don't want to. What's jaggies mean? Jaggies occur when the developers of a game can't or won't use anti-aliasing. Without anti-aliasing, some objects can appear too lego-ised on your screen. If you're playing a Lego game that's fine, but if you want objects to be slick and rounded it may make the game look sloppy.

anti-aliasing = texture smoothing and less jagged looking.
Example:
A 3d plane flys into sunset at level height and looks smooth, when it turns its wings to go left the edges go jagged.
