I started up with Doom 3 yet again... almost completed it now, and I still think the game is awesome, while I know a few of you might disagree. Once I'm done I'll get back to MGS3 again... damn my short attention span lately!!!!

Playing a lot of The crystal of kings that has been released on the crystal system arcade hardware of Brezzasoft. The grafics are excelent and the playstyle is somewhat in the same spirit of Dungeon and dragons by capcom.

I modded mine with a fliptop for swap magic 3.3 and now it's import capable without me ever voiding the warranty. You'll need an adaptor for multitap though if you have one of the old versions.

castlevania on the ps2. i bought it thinking it'd stink what with being in 3d and everything, but actually turned out to be excellent. sure, it'd be nice if you could move the camera manually and if they put more effort into the presentation a la symphony of the night. but its still very good.
as for doom 3 and guity gear am i the only one who thinks these games are overrated?
i mean doom 3 was made boring by all the scripting and guity gear (while having some very cool designs) is ruined by the fact that its just so painfully slow. though admittedly that could be because i've only got the ps2 conversion... how accurate is it by the way?

I was suprised that Castlevania turned out good, I really enjoyed it but I still want to see another 2D game. The GBA games are cool and all, but they could do so much with it if they made one for the PS2 or something I like Guilty Gear but have never played it in the arcade... but I'd assume it's quite a close port. Buddha and Raiken might be best to answer that one though... As for Doom 3, I know that gameplay wise it's not exceptionally good and perhaps a bit dated as far as FPS games go these days, and that it's mainly so big because of the hype/graphics... but I actually think it's that simplicity that makes it so cool for me. I can easily put the game on, play for an hour or two, then come back to it later on, and it's not a thinking mans game... it's just kill kill kill, so at times when my attention span is short (read: quite often ) it's more fun to play than some other games. The atmosphere is also amazing, and something that I think really makes that game as much fun as it is. Kaz

As far as I know the ports are fine. Personally I love the GG series and Reload is by far the most enjoyable for me (more specifically the korean version). I also don't find it to be slow myself considering how much I've had to practice the timing for my Chipp combos

yeah, the ports are QUITE arcade perfect, the onl y"flaw" is the CD quality sound in the ports, which the arcade vers cant handle and GG may NOT be as fast as, hmm, MVsC2, but the gameplay is great enough, and fast enough... if you can find one, go get the #Reload version (i prefer the JPN over the Korean version), it's the serie's best imo, and also try getting GGX Plus, well, its great too

well, i'd like to get in guilty gear, it 'd just be easier if was a bit quicker. though having said that it doesn't seem as intially confusing as cvs2 which i only realised when i had some friends round who've never played such games before. i've heard there's a pc version of #reload. don't suppose you know if that's any good, and more importantly, where to get it?

I mean, in the korean one you can simply change the music and voices back to japenese if you want and turn off the extra stage too. Then it's identical to the jap one as far as I know. My preference for the korean really just comes from liking the korean music and inclusion of the soundtrack cd's with the game.

^ i meant the overall JPN setup, i did like some of the Korean music and voices , but it never really rubbed in me, so, for less hassle, i just play the JPN version...
btw, about the PC version, i'd say it very decent for a PC game, but you proll wanna get a controller or a stick,. cuz keyboard isnt really for GGXX#R
