Supremelord, Sukotsuto: thanks for the advice, I'll bear it in mind. One question tho, if I bought a Pal system and had it modded for imports, would it play in 50hz or 60hz mode? After owning a DC, EVERYTHING must be in 60hz!!!!!!!  |

Both my friend ... both ;D ... the choice is urs ;D ... u can select 50hz or 60hz ... but naturally u would want to select 60hz ;D
Also some other crap called Progressive Scan - says it will damadge ur tv if u select progressive scan and ur tv dosen't have progressive scan ... I suggest DUNT TRY THIS ONE OUT ;D ... unless u want ur tv stuffed ... lol ;D

According to Hyper>> game magazine ... the new PS3 will be out in 2006 hopefully anyways ... That is when the console wars will start ... the winner no one knows  Naturally it will be tha 3 giants vs each other ... and on the right corner, light wieght champion give it up for " Nintendo." (Crowd goes wild) His tuff ... strong and heavy wieght champion of gaming give it up for "Sony." (Crowd goes wilder) on tha far left ... his a man of extrodinary wealth, medium wieght campion please give it up for "Microsoft" (Crowd leaves) "were did everybody go?" LOL ;D Rest assured there is going to be one big ass fight ... naturally the better for us  |

Did you really have to post that third post?  I dunno, is the PS3 really gonna be that powerful? Or is it all going to be one big hype... anyway, I like Sony anyway so I'll probably just buy one anyway. |

Yep ... it sure is gona be that damn powerfull  ... just think of what they can do with 1 Trillion calculations per second ... 100 times more than a Pentuim 4 running at 2.5Ghz. It's not exactly proof until Sony officially announces it is it? And even if it is 100 times more powerful than a 2.5ghz CPU, it doesn't mean that it will run at 250ghz  Kaz |

power is nothing if there ain't no good games to back it up. back in 97, N64 is powerful than Playstation but which one of the 2 died first? personally, i'd rather play my GBA SP than play on an XBOX, though XBOX is like, a gazillion times more powerful than GBA. why? because i liked SP's games more.
the current news on the PS3 is simply just spec talk since there's no recent PS3 demos, so we wouldn't know how good it actually is until we get to see it in action. there won't be much "oohs" and "ahhs" from any of us until then.

Until consoles catch up to pc's im not that interested.
That and I don't like the way sony dominate the entire console market with an iron fist much like Micro$oft.

250 Ghz is a lot more than PC I can't be bothered to explain properly and I don't mean any offense, but you definitely don't sound like you have much knowledge on how hardware works... you are just repeating stuff you've read on websites and deduced for yourself. As I said above, it *won't* run at 250ghz, just because they say it's a 100 times more powerful than a 2.5ghz CPU... that's just ridiculous One other thing... can anyone remember even after Sony announced the PS2 how good some of the original demos looked that they showed at their unveiling. Now, how many games have we seen for the PS2 that looked as good as those original demos? Same thing happened years ago when Nintendo showed supposed footage of what N64 games would look like, but the actual console never looked as good as that early footage. As I say, until there's more official evidence and a console has actually been demonstrated at a trade show like E3 or something (and people have been able to actually *play* on it, most of what you hear is bs. But anyway... no doubt the PS3 will be a very nice machine and I will definitely buy one... but none of these tech specs mean anything to me until I have actually seen the real machine running and have some idea of what it can actually do (and I know the games that will be available for it of course). ;D Kaz |

I know it's not 250Ghz exactly and yes I know fairly enough for my age about hardware n computers ... but did u have to put it in such a harsh way  ... People here (me) do have feelings u know  anyways theres a rumour going around that thier will be 2 different version of the PS 3. Rumour is the KEY word here. Though I don't know what they mean by 2 different versions according 2 one site it said 1 will be wireless and the with wire btw Thanks a lot Hullcityfcmad for the help with my signature problem ... don't u guys think my sig looks cool or what ;D |
