Seeing as we have a thread for the excuses people use when they lose a game, how about a thread about the different ways you can talk smack to put an opponent off? Here's a few of my faves (and I have actually done these 1. When playing a 2 player driving game, sit right next to your opponent and as you turn every corner rotate the pad as if it is a steering wheel, and as your elbows move round, be sure to make them lightly hit your opponent in the face each time. It's even better if you make some engine and tire screeshing noises as you drive. This will piss your opponent off so much that you will be guaranteed to win... just make sure the other player is not bigger than you, otherwise you might land yourself in trouble 2. When playing a fighting game, shout out the names of the moves as you do them at the top of your voice. Also, jumping in and executing a combo while shouting stuff like "low, high, middle, low low, high high" as you do a 10 hit combo in Tekken 3 is very annoying and always puts your opponent off 3. Crack terrible jokes every time you win a match. My favourites are: - win with Kuma in Tekken: "Can you BEAR it?" - win with Paul in Tekken: "Oh man, your skills are apPAULing" I'm sure you can think of a few more... I know those jokes are aweful but that's the general idea. In fact, I wound up a friend so much with the Kuma joke once (I had beaten him 10 times with Kuma) that he actually threw his PSOne against the wall and broke it into many pieces.... seriously, I'm not kidding Anybody have any other fun smack talking tactics? ;D Kaz

I used to tell people what move I was going to do next and i'd ALWAYS get them with it.
Also to be a real bastard I used to reset the machine before the computer tells you who won or when you are losing.

I'm not much of a smack talker, i let my devistating skills talk for me. It doesn't even matter what i say after a match, my friends are usually pissed off at me anyways ;D

Here's a good tactic to counteract smack talk against you: "They say something" You: "What's that?" wait a few seconds You: "Oh, it's the sound of no one caring" ;D

i don't usually talk smack since i'm usually the one who gets distracted anyway. but wanna get really dirty? when in the arcade, pay some kids and tell them to frequently annoy your opponent like spilling some ice cream on the guy. if at home, press pause in-between your opponent's moves, especially when they're doing something hard like inputting Tekken King's multi-throw command or during combos! ;D Kaz: AWEful Punz ya got ther!! i'd get distracted too if you smack talk me with that

i pissed a friend once cuz i beat him cuz of this ;D if my opponent is my friend and we're playing fighting game, I'll discourage him like "u loser ur no match for my iori go home"-kof. Sometimes if my opponent is serious on the game i laugh at them loudy so i can break their concentration. After the game, sometimes i see them doing bad signs at me good thing i have friends beside me.

I don't mind if someone is a noob and they ask at the start of a fight to check their moves and stuff and then try a couple out before we fight for real, but people that do it mid-fight are annoying as hell. My friend does it constantly while we play Winning 11 sometimes, I'll start an attack and he will "conveniently" pause the game so he can take a sip of his beer or whatever... I'm used to it though and it never works I also remember a guy back when we were kids who used to frequent the arcades and play a lot of SF2: Champion Edition, and he was VERY VERY good. The only thing was, for some strange reason he never did know how to deal with Vega, and he used to insist people didn't use him as I guess he didn't want to get embaressed or something stupid (this guy was also not the sort of person you would want to argue with... ). One day we went down there and this other guy I know decided to teach him a lesson my picking Dhalsim and destroying his Ryu with him completely (almost a double perfect). It was even worse for him because back then the only two characters that *no-one* picked were Dhalsim and Zangief, so I don't think he took it too well I know those jokes above are bad, but that's the idea... the more annoyingly crap the joke is, the more it annoys the person you are playing with... as I found out when my friend trashed his PSOne. The bad thing is that that wasn't the only time he did something like that, he's probably broken about 7 or 8 PSOnes over the years (and back then Sony used to replace them under gaurantee cos they were stupid ). I also remember him kicking his TV off the stand once when we were about 12 years old because I beat him in MK1 with Sub Zero and pulled out his fatality. That TV never did work properly ever again... My friend is definitely someone who takes his games *too* seriously Kaz

I used to beat people with my eyes closed or tell them what move I was going to do next and hit them with it, or if I was going to go high or low. That lost me a few friends ... ;D
