Sitting around contemplating what would be the perfect idea for an ace new thread, then it came to me... A poll! Everyone loves polls I chose Best 3D martial arts series cause their aren't too many too many 3D melee fighting series let alone popular ones and i knew Soul Calibur would win. (as it rightfully should) Anways, though i dig most of the options i put up there i chose Tekken because of its unique and skillfull gameplay. (I concider Namco the SNK of 3D fighters. They make excellent games but don't update them enough from sequel to sequel, mainly tekken, but hopefully that will change with tekken 5)

before i got into the KOF scene, i was an avid tekken fan (even up to now). my peak of tekken gaming was still on tekken 3 though.
i like SC, DOA and bloody roar too, but tekken had always been my fave because of the fighting system and cool characters

I like Tekken and DOA but I think Rival Schools was the only good 3d capcom fighter.

Virtua Fighter is the most technically complete fighting series ever.

DOA freak here. Most people look down on it on account of the bouncy girls but there's so much more to it. At least for me.

Gotdamn Capcom whores!!! ;D I actually do like Rival Schools alot, its an acceptable winner. But... what sick ass mofo voted for MK: DA, just admit it so i can flame you accordingly. Most people look down on it on account of the bouncy girls but there's so much more to it. Other then pretty graphics i don't see much more to it. I actually respected it alot more by playing it for small amounts of time before spent a whole weekend really putting alot of time into it and came realized just how simple and cheap the gameplay is. (if you wanna win fighting another person that is)

(if you wanna win fighting another person that is) I know some peeps at gamefaqs who would start killing you now, but that's ok. I just loved the way how DOA2 gave you full 3D control with the analog stick, at a point where Virtua Fighter still was restricted to the sidestep routine, and Tekken was in essence still 2D. The counter system in DOA2 is cheap: it knocks off too much energy when you can pull it off (and pulling it off is a bit like a game of rock-scissors-paper ie high-mid-low counter). Tecmo realised that and toned it down in the more technical DOA3. Pretty sure Dark s. picked MK Don't forget about that cheap SubZero. ;D

In terms of fun I gottasay Tekken - admittedly it's not the most technical fighter around, but if you have a bunch of friends together who don't have hours and hours to practice a game and just want to jump straight into a game, then I'd say Tekken Tag is one of the best games to put on. And although I didn't vote for it, MKDA is at worst still a fun game imho Kaz
