Now that the next generation of consoles has been unveiled, E3 is treating us to a whole bunch of cornerstone games. Post pics and videos here. Starting it off with an all-time favorite of mine: Dead or Alive 4Check out the awesome DOA4 trailer: www.1up.com/do/download?cId=3140417Some 480 MB, so you really need a potent pc to get it running without hickups.

I spent a long time yesterday checking out all the console info and looking at footage of the new games. The PS3 is by far the console i'll buy first. It's amazing to think that it should be coming out sometime around the end of the year. About DOA 4, it looks good but not much better then DOA 3. It doesn't matter to me cause i'm not all about the graphics but when Tekken 6 comes out it will be nice to play a 3d fighter that is the master of gameplay and visuals

I spent a long time yesterday checking out all the console info and looking at footage of the new games. The PS3 is by far the console i'll buy first. It's amazing to think that it should be coming out sometime around the end of the year. You meant the Xbox 360 there, right? As far as I know, this is the one that Microsoft announced as globally available by the end of the year. Sony has put a spring 2006 release on its ps3, but that's the Japanese release. If the psp story is anything to go by that's an autumn 2006 release for the ps3 in Europe. Granted, the ps3 does look like it will pack the biggest punch. About DOA 4, it looks good but not much better then DOA 3. It doesn't matter to me cause i'm not all about the graphics but when Tekken 6 comes out it will be nice to play a 3d fighter that is the master of gameplay and visuals The DOA4 trailer showed footage of a 15% complete game. My guess is it was first developed for Xbox, but then moved to the 360 as that system needed games. It will be interesting to see how it evolves as the true power of the 360 comes kicking in. According to the folks at G4tv, the video shown was running off a G5 Mac with 2 graphics chips, whereas the 360 will have 3 custom chips. Plenty of room for improvement there.

That trailer was awesome, but in all honesty like Goemon I'm more of a Tekken guy as I'm sure anyone could guess... not that the nick is a dead giveaway or anything . I do like DOA though, and I'm sure that I'll pickup a 360 this Christmas, and then a PS3 when it eventually comes out here. I'll be tempted to get the import, but although I didn't mind importing the PSP for obvious reasons, I don't think an import home console would be a great idea... Kaz
