Probably is real.. one problem though: Nothing can be booted on V1.5 consoles. My Japanese PSP has already been flashed to 1.5, and USA consoles are 1.5 by default, so until they figure a way around this most people won't be able to use it.
There is a NES emu floating about already btw... can't wait till all this stuff becomes usable, will be awesome ;D

To be honest I only really want a psp for the data storage and pictures etc, but not really games. Of course i'd buy some but if I had a DS as well i'm sure the DS would be top priority

I do want a DS at some point, especially for Castlevania, but one thing worries me... why are there already rumours of a new handheld coming from Nintendo? Also, sales of the console have been dire so far according to suppliers that we deal with at work Kaz

"sales of the console have been dire so far according to suppliers that we deal with at work" Must be the reason Gamestation, Game, Virgin sell out all the time If Nintendo were thinking about making another new handheld I can only see it being a re-model of the DS (GBA > SP). It would be pretty stupid to make another one after not long releasing the DS It would be like Releasing the PS3 then a few months later releasing a PS4

Nintendogs has become very popular over there.

I'd rather a slightly better design DS than a new one already.
For some games where you use the thumb peice (AKA mario 64 DS) it can really strain after some time.
imo

Nintendogs has become very popular over there. Possibly in Japan, especially due to stuff like Nintendogs selling like crazy over there . I can only go off what UK suppliers have said really, and we sold import PSP's & DS's since day one and almost no-one asks about DS here (not even when the imports first came in), it's all PSP requests. I think it's partially cos so many people are stupid and brainwashed by PSP/Sony, but either way if it isn't selling, it isn't selling. Would like to see some actual UK sales figures though Still, although I'm more of a PSP guy than a DS guy, I will get a DS, but like Klarkus said about the PSP, I need a killer app that will make me want one. Castlevania will probably be that - the series made me buy a GBA, it will probably make me buy a DS edit: my boss also reckoned that some retailers he spoke to wanted to drop the DS due to not selling many... I dunno if that's true though. Kaz

I cant see that happening with all the upcomming games...fair-do's the DS hasnt got many decent games at the moment but not many consoles/handhelds do when they first come out
Like none of the PSP games so far interest me...only Darkstalkers and thats cuz im just a 2d fighting fan (but ive heard its hard to control and long loading times ect)
