Say, has anybody played an arcade fighter called Asura Blade, circa 1998? This is different from Ashura Blade, an earlier shooter. It had a 2000 sequel, Asura Buster, with a few extra characters.
It's sortof like a Darkstalkers game run through a Last Blade filter, but without any of the quality of either.
A search will turn up some screenshots of it, if anybody's interested.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had ever come across a movelist or something. Gamefaqs doesn't have any, and the closest I've found is a Japanese site with a movelist for the sequel.

Yup! That's where I'm playing it. It's not too bad. Sound isn't emulated so far, but it's not too bad of a game.

I love the game. The characters are awesome and some of the moves are sweet as hell. Linking the combos is easy to get into and getting used to using the different button setup is easy. Definitly a game that desirves more recognision.

Say, Seiryu, since you're familiar with the game, do you have trouble with the supers? Allegedly they're just double qcf plus any attack, but I've had trouble pulling them off. Any ideas? Know something I don't?
I _did_ discover that you can throw your weapon by pressing all 3 attack buttons at once.

Most power up supers are the same motion as for the regular moves, fireball, dragonpunch, etc) only you press weak and medium attack together with 1 or 2 levels of superbar, then you do the super instead of the regular move.
I'll see if i can find a movement list.

Hey, thanks Seiryu! It worked like a charm. Not sure why I got it in my head that it was a double qcf motion for supers. Oh well.

You've played too much Garou. Lol, which is totally not a bad thing. There´s nothing like TOO much Garou. I´d say gaot (i think he was named that, not sure, am at work now) the white haired blade wielder is very cool to use. He´s very aggresive to play with.

Well, yeah, Garou has been another favorite of late, can't imagine how you guys guessed that!!
Goat is a whole lot of fun to use, very aggressive. S.Geist, the boss, is pretty fun too-- the other boss, Cable... er, I mean Curfue is a little boring and cheap against the computer though.

Though i think Gurfue looks a hellla lot cooler then Cable.
i can´t remember his name but the main dude with the sable and the fireblast move, he´s hella cool too. Very different style to him and his stance looks great.

That's Yashaou. He's a great take (and agreed, a great sprite) on a fireball/uppercut character.
What I really wish is that Mame would emulate the sequel! It looks like it adds a few additional characters and some new moves. I'll try to dig up a screenshot or two for everyone. It makes me wonder what other great, underrated fighters are out there on Mame that I've just missed.

Try Daraku tenchi....The fallen angel from Psikyo. It´s a 2-D brawler with awesome animation and very well made characters. Hand to hand battles with almost no firebals. From what i´ve heared the designers that made the design on fallen angels in 1998,later on moved to work for SNK on KOF,thus the same design on K Dash and others,it shows a bit in the main characters as one looks like `K Dash, one as Maxima and one looks a lot like Yashiro. Truelly a title that must be played by every beat em up fan. Screenshot galore: www.vgmuseum.com/images/arcade3/04/25.html
