Seeing as metroid zero missions is coming out soon (2/9 for the US)for the gba (unfortunately for nintendo the roms already released) i thought it would be appropriate to start a thread to discuss what a bangin series metroid is and for people that aren't fans to repent by learning about its greatness ;D Anways here's the cover for the upcoming gba game- Super Metroid was one of the first snes games that i fell in love with and played through many times. I've played all the games as they have come since aside from prime unfortunately (i don't have a gamecube ) & with puzzles and great action/adventure it is my fav. sidescrolling shooter series out there, after metal slug of course ;D Anyways i've played a bit of zm already and its just as good as i expected, excellent music, gameplay and decent graphics for the gba. Here's a couple of really sweet remixes of the great music in metroid games- Intro remixed heavy metal style: www.metroidmetal.com/mp3/metroid_intro.mp3Fav. remix of metroid music, it showcases tunes from many parts of the game. Starts of kinda slow but its a masterpiece imo, Fans must check it out: www.ocremix.org/songs/Super_Metroid_Zebesian_Midnight_OC_ReMix.mp3

I've played and own all the metroid games and they are instant classics. Metroid Prime is an excellent game although I still prefer Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion over it. I'm not going to bother getting the rom since I get paid this week and I'll pick up when it comes out.

I definately feel that the metroid games should stay in 2d, i would have bought a gamecube just for a new metroid game if it was. Super metroid is my fav. but i also loved fusion, (i don't know why some peeps didn't like this one) the metroid 2 gb was decent also for its time. I was actually gonna go back and play the first one agian before i heard the remake was on the horizon, now im extremely glad i waited. Btw, i just edited my first post to add a couple great remixes of metroid music i've found on the net. Fan or not, id say give the music a good listen

I loved Metroid on the Snes. The Pal version came in an oversized box with a packed in strategy guide. I played trough the whole game without resorting to using it oonce. Willpower-me-do!
