kim and athenas team are not important.also aof ending are nothing to do with the storyline.

Blaww..that's why they should ditch the storyline thing and focus on the tournament and the fighting.
Kim team,AOF team and the china tram are great teams to fight with.Why mess that up cause of a damn storyline?

I'd rather they skip the idea of some kind of "epic" story like they did with Orochi/Nests... they'll never do any better than the Orochi story in my opinion anyway. Like other people have said, just have a simple story where people are just fighting in the tournament and have their own reasons for joining etc. That way they can actually get back to having some older characters in there that we haven't seen much/at all in the KoF series... people like Eiji Kisaragi, Duck-King, Rick (they REALLY need him in another game) and loads of others. And please... put Jhun back in there and give Kim a decent team. They can keep Choi/Chang in there for all I care, but Kim deserves better.

the reason why orochi saga was better was because kof94,95,96 never really had a epic storyline.sure iori and kyo was the main rivalry but it wasnt focused mainly on them.in kof99,2000,2001 they always focus on k'/kula/k-9999.also i think benimaru should be axed to.

94-97 had a big story that followed on in each episode (like 99-2001)... they actually did concentrate a lot on Iori/Kyo, if you knew the story in depth then you'd know how big a part their clans play in the whole Orochi history. What I mean by "epic" though is that in 94-97 and 99-2001 they had some big story going on, but they don't necessarily need to do that. Just have a good roster, some fun rivalries going on with the characters, and an interesting boss, that's what they need. When you think about it, the most acclaimed KoF game (and the best for vs play) is KOF '98... and that had no real storyline  . Don't get me wrong, I *really* enjoyed the Orochi story, but I don't think they will better that so why bother? Just concentrate on gameplay... Kaz |

98, although in my opinion 2002 is still pretty good. If you only get one though, make it 98.

are you sure?there was more main characters(k',kula,kyo,iori,yashiroetc)what happened to shingo,jhun,foxy,saisyu,usa teametc?

USA team got taken out after 94 because most people thought they sucked... they just got bought back for 98 only as people requested it. Saisyu disappeared and was never seen again for some reason (which is a shame), Shingo is gone from the MVS/AES version of KOF2002 but is in the DC version, Jhun had some sort of accident (according to the story) which is why he is gone from KOF 2001 onwards... Foxy I don't know about as I can't remember her story.
98 plays better in my opinion and has better graphics/music overall. 2002 is still damn cool, but 98 is a lot more polished.

oh yeah.foxy gets killed before you face igniz.you know what would be a great kof.something like kof2002 but with rugal,zero,igniz and evil kyo,evil iori as bosses.i kinda miss crazy iori.

Actually yeah, '99 is probably better overall... 2002 might be better for VS play though, as there are more characters, and some of the old faves are back. '99 is the best looking and best sounding KOF by far though. The courtyard stage still looks AMAZING imho.
I'm keeping an open mind for KOF 2003 as well, maybe Playmore will surprise us? (they should do something good, considering it is the 10th KOF game)
