Ok I got this game today - it's pretty good fun, although it still would have been nice to see something a little more special for the games 15th anniversary. For those that don't know, it's basically all the SF2 games (World Warrior, Champion Edition, Super) all rolled into one, meaning you can choose what version of a character you want to play as... eg. Chun Li pre fireball vs Chun Li with fireball. You can also choose what music you want to have playing on each stage - original CPS1 music (like in World Warrior and Champion Edition), CPS2 music (Super Street Fighter), or arranged music. It's basically along the same lines as the Darkstalkers game for the Dreamcast. Also included is the full version of the Street Fighter 2 anime on the disc (minus the Chun Li b00by scene). What strikes me about this is how much different to the US version the original Japanese edition of the movie is. I always knew that the original music had been ripped out and replaced with music by Alice in Chains, KMFDM and Silverchair etc, but I have to say that for once it was a change for the better. People may disagree with me, but I really like the changes to the US edition, and even appreciate the hammy voiceovers that were in it Kaz

I have to agree there about the music. I have the american version of the anime and the music actually fits well with the fight scenes IMO.

Yeah it is the full version, although it remains to be seen if they will include it in the US version of the game, if it ever comes out stateside that is. Licensing limitations may stop them from including it as Manga Entertainment probably still have the rights to distribute it over here and in the US. If you get the Japanese version of the game, other than the music you also need to remember that the dialogue is all in Japanese, and there's no subtitles. There no fast forward/rewind either, but thankfully they did add a chapter skip and pause Putting KMFDM's "Ultra" in during the fight scene between Chun-Li and Vega was a complete masterstroke in my opinion - there is not a single other track that would have fit as well as that did. Israels Son by Silverchair and Them Bones by Alice in Chains were perfect too, as was Blind by Korn at the end. Man... 4 of my all time favourite songs in one movie, couldn't be better Kaz

Also included is the full version of the Street Fighter 2 anime on the disc (minus the Chun Li b00by scene). Kaz what? the best part of the anime DELETED!? i'll stick to my friend's VHS that has that scene intact, thank you.

Yeah, I guess they had to remove it because otherwise the game would have had a higher age rating which I suppose Capcom didn't want Kaz

You've got to be fucking kidding me...... It's maybe cos you're used to the US version of the anime but the voice overs were horible...also the stuff they say in the cool american voice over lines...oh man, that's garbage.
Sure the music itself is very good, but it's not for the anime.

Well, 99.9% of the time I would agree with you, and I usually hate bad English hack jobs. However, in the case of SF2 I think the music they put in there was a lot better than the stuff that was in the Japanese version. The Chun Li Vs Vega fight for instance just seems a lot more entertaining with KMFDM playing, than it does with a slow J-Pop song... and besides, Chun Li was in New York at the time and she turned the radio on... now why would the radio in New York be playing J-Pop? As for the dub, I know it's pretty bad... but it is kinda entertaining. Some of Bisons lines are really cool/funny, as are many others. I guess it all coms down to taste, and while I would usually hate the changes they made here, in this particular case I think it was pretty good Kaz

Same ones that all the people I know have taken... the ones that make us all prefer the English cut of SF2 anime . There's quite a few of us... Kaz

I have to admit I prefer the English dub in this case. And the Chun Li vs Vega fight is one of the highlights of the anime, partially thanks to the great background music.

well, i also bought my copy of the Hyper SF2 Anniversary Edition... quite nostalgic i might say... and some what good (prolly capcom's best release yet : but just like the Vampire chonicles for the DC, i hated when you choose the "char mode", it really anoying and it kinda makes a simple game complicated... still, ken w/o fire beating ken w/ fire looks nice but i personally, didnt like the anime.... why? 1. it sucked 2. err... sucked 3. oh yeah, almost forgot, it sucked... but, and i gotta agree (although i'd hate to say it), the US dub was better this time....

Me too Watch the alpha movie. That sucked IMO. LOL! (IMHO) that really... was better.. the fight scenes were kinda nice... but the storyline was stupid (lo!, Ryu has a lil bro!), and the "ENEMY" in the end was cool looking, would make a nice BOSS in SF... and some chars just appeard for the sake of BEING in the anime, they have no connection to the "story" at all....
