SInce no one replied here since the game has come out, here are some things we can tell from the videos:
Gai and Adel are mid bosses after the 3rd match Schion (female with spear) is first boss-appareantly adel is harder to defeat. The last boss (name unknown) is a tall creepy guy who looks like the ultimate keep away character( fireballs, power streams, full screen orochi like move). People who have been in the arcades say he is almost impossible, and is much harder then igniz.

Despite reused sprites the overall presentation is quite nice. However the ability to combo with two people gives me the impression the game will be broken quite soon Kickass wallpapers btw nexus.

Actually, I heard that the Quick Shift (that's what it's called IIRC) requires pretty strict timing (like GG FRC timing).

While I do find that more reassuring, japanese players will still easily disect this game within time. We'll just have to see.

BEST KOF SO FAR (well, SNKP standards ) sorry for my abscence cuz yous see... i've been playing this since the 27th we got it early here n the arcades near us My team currently is Momoko, Ash and Ramon.. Momoko is a freakin combo whore She easily pwnz unaware noobs. Her DM is very similar to Hinako's for some reason... She's a bit like MayLee with her linking moves. Ash is "better" in some ways, new DM is cool, but his projectiles are severly slower... Ramon is pretty much the same, but with a kickin new LDM :, it's like Goro's multple ommands, Usng the E button surprsingly. Dream Cancel abuse with Ramon is devastating, from his DM to LDM, tight damage. Dont' worry, quick shift is pretty easy to handle... whiel Save Shfiting, hehe, i jsut mash teh stuff to get it to work one thing screws me up though, the GUDGE (judge) system... if a time over occurs... the winner will be determined NOT on the remaining life... but on "who Played the best"/"Who did the best combos" (more hits i presume). it's kinda bad if your a Turtler. so far i have encountered 3 Mid Bosses. Adel, Gai Tendou & Jyazu, but reports say that Hayate, and rumors lead to Silber too., as other Mid Bosses, i still dont know waht determinds who you fight, the Sub-Boss is Shion. She wields a spear and has "stances" w/ and w/o spear. And the boss is Magaki, he's pretty much the most projectile whoring SNK boss ever. The music in teh game is topnotch, it gets you in the mood o fight:D reminscent of MaxImpact's music though, but still very good well, if you ahve more character specific questions i'll try to figure em out, i've been playing this almost eveyday now sadly, the arcade operators TOOK AWAY NGBC (they said they sold it, cuz it wasnt really that popular here), But the Repalcement wa KOFXI , so, even nonetheless (besides i know 3 more places with NGBC, and Rumble Fish 2 ) peace

Sweet, thanks for the link. BEST KOF SO FAR (well, SNKP standards ) That is quite a statement. How would you describe the fluidity of the game? It actually reminds me more of kof 2k2 from the vids. then 2k3 which is a very good thing imo. If all the characters are balanced and the tag system isn't overly abusive this could be a fine kof. Also, do you think someone like myself who didn't like kof 2k3 would like it?

^hmm.. as i said, SNK P standards the "engine" is actually more like a refined NGBC engine, which was based from SVC and 2k3's engines. he game's pacing is a bit slower when compared to 2k3 though, but not too slow... the Fluidity? it's OK i guess, the Tag functons, although looks cheap, is quite fair imo, well implemented i think. as for someone who didnt like 2k3... well, XI might change your mind totally. 2k3 is just a very tiny shadow of what XI is imo. XI is a fine KOF

Have you tried out Malin? I'm curious if she's still as good as she was in 2k3.

^i personally havent handled her yet, but i heard a Malin player i actually fought him and defeated him) being dissapointed, i think she got raped anyway, i decided to go for my 2k2 team today, i use Kula, Ramon and since Mai is absent, i used Benimaru. Kula's new move looks like a Snowflake, but i dont really find it that useful for now, the VERY low-jumps in XI helps in a "poking-style" Kula. Benimaru is pretty much 2k3, heck, same outfit i managed to see one guy finish the game using the AOF team. (warning possible spoilers), i actually didnt bother to read the test, but teh pics were amazing. It show King and Ryo in a fancy place, Ryo is n a white tux, while King is in a purple dress with a VERY diferent hair style. i fnished the game (FINALLY) with Ash's team. again, i kinda skipped thru it, but it says somthing like Oswald and Shen fighting cuz of a Drug deal (??), im sure you could find more valid information from other sites, (*hint*cybrfntx*hint*) sorry if im not that helpful with the info im just trying to absorb everything the game has to offer for now

Wow I missed so much info and so many vids of the game... thankfully daaren got me back up to speed somewhat on msn. Game looks great and I really am loving the music that I have heard so far - KOF 2003 had a good soundtrack, but this one sounds like the best one since KOF98/99 if you ask me. Will be interesting to hear what the experts say about the balance of the game as the next few weeks pass by... buddha: if you fancy doing any kind of write-up about the game for the site... No probs if not, if I were you I'd be spending all my time "playing" theg ame anyways, but if you get time even a short write-up would be cool . Kaz

^well, I would love to make a write up... but to be honest, i really dont know where to start! i mean, should i make a review? a "report" or somthing? but i promise i'll try and do my best to make somthing overall, im not even caring whether XI is unbalanced (im sure it's more balanced than 2k3), or who are the top tier, or the nitty details of priorites or whatever, im just ENJOYING the game as it is which i think is the moe important thing, the fun factor. another dose of some stuff i noticed: Duo Lon lost some speed, he's not as godly as he was in 2k3, but still a good fighter. He gains a new move though. Still dont know the requirements/conditions on who you will fight as a Mid-Boss, i mostly get Gai Tendou and Adel though. Prolly try finishing the enemies with Dream Cancels/LDMs to get the "harder characters",dunno. just in case you havent seen yet, he cutscenes has some bits of animation from here to there (i.e. Shion getting "vaccumed"), a nice touch i think. but here's some random details. i found out. Artists: Offical Art/Mook art/Printed/website - Hiroaki Cutscenes/Demo/Intro - Mr. NONA Win portraits/Portraits/Character Select Portraits - ? (seems like the same dude who did the NGBC intro) Music - The music was improved if you have noticed, reason is the composer were some of the past members of the OLD SNK's Music team, Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan, namely Sha-V and Tate Norio. hmm.. i acutally SKIPPED playing XI today.. why you ask? cuz RUmbleFish2 was right beside it i decided to try it out, (but that's another disscussion) well, i'll try to get the Most out of XI in the following weeks, cuz in 2 weeks, classes start again..
