i always wondered how i could make say, a dreamcast iso work in a dreamcast emu
Does anyone know how to make isos work.?

Try using Daemon tools. Its a program which emulates a CD/DVD drive which enables you to use your backup image files as if they were already burned to CD.
Some CD writing software also have that feature like Nero and Alcohol 120%.

Daemon tools is DEFINITELY worth having for all manner of things anyway... like if you were to download an ISO and you wanna check the contents without having to burn to a CD/DVD, then use it and you save yourself a whole lot of time and effort... and also some media if you decide it's not worth the burn.
If you aren't bothered then just burn the ISO to disc. Alcohol might be your best bet.
