True xbox has more raw power ... N technically speakin it has better specs than every other console currently in tha market Did u know that tha PlayStation 2 is tha only console that can rip dvd's and store it on it's separate hard-drive and I mean only console ... no other console can do that ... sorry xbox fans but even u's can't do it ;D You mean ripping games etc to the HD so you can play them off that? Xbox has had that for ages Kaz

Na mate not games I mean DVD movies not tha games Why would you need to though . Games I can understand cos having them on the HD improves load times, but with films its not really needed. I've never seen it though - what do you use to do this? What the PS2 really needed was a way to store music on a HD, and then have games that support playing your own music tracks. That's probably one of the Xbox's best points really, it's especially helpful in games like Tony Hawk etc and racing games. Kaz

It would be really cool if u could use PC hard-drives and stick it in R u sure that u can do that 100% sure - me and my friend installed one into his PS2, but bear in mind that you need the official HD to play games like FFXI as it won't work on unnofficial hard drives. Go here for info on the program that lets you play games directly off an official or unnoficial HD: www.hdloader.com Kaz ps to connect it to the PS2 you also need the network adaptor

It does take a while to install each game, but once they are on the HD load times on most games are fantastic! On some of the 2D games it loads so fat you'd barely even notice it (you should see Hyper Street Fighter!) Kaz

How much would it cost for everything though ... and does ur PS2 have 2 be modified Don't actually think you need a modded PS2 no You need the network adaptor, suitable HD and then HD Loader... over here those three would probably set me back just less than £100, dunno about how much it would be for you. Ohh ok that shouldn't B to much of a problem except getting the HD loader don't know where to find that though Same price roughly around $150 ... so u can use a PC hardrive right even the bigger sized ones like 160 gigs (which we have ;D) Also I got 2 go over 2 tha shops and purchase the network adapter which is kinda cheap it's only $60 with a game aswell ( Harware Arena ... cool game though )

Sorry bout the double posting But i just checked out tha site u told me and saw tha pics and all ... It showed the Hard Drive being connected to Network Adaptor and the Adapter gets connected to the inside of the PS2 in the Expansion Slot place Soo any way my point is do u HAVE to HAVE a PlayStation 2 network adapter for it to work Can't u just connect the Hard Drive to the PS2 in the Expansion Slot place without the Network Adapter ... ALso is it possible for it to rip Backup games on the hard-drive as well and with that HDloader software can u also rip DVD movies on the Hard Drive Notice in Australia we are allowed by LAW to have a backup of an original game/movie etc which u OWN! and ONLY 1 backup incase the original fails for watever reason ... Mod-Chips are 100% legal too even though sony tried 2 make it Illegal in the courts of law ;D So thier is nothing illegal in wat I said Don't I live in a blessed country

Maxtors are good for the PS2 so I hear. Kaz
