NOTE: THIS DOESNT NOT WORK ON NEBULA The Datfile is used only for reference the purpose: This romset in the actual/correct PCB dump of kof2003, the bootleg dump lack the transparency effects and has major bugs (blood, menus, etc.). in short: ARCADE PERFECT ROMIf you are using the Kawaks1.48 DEV, youll see that it has 2 KOF2003's, one is a Bootleg, and one is THE CORRECT dump, now this romset here is the latter. All i can say is that, if you want to have the CORRECT, fully working dump of 2k3, then afaik, this is IT  agan, it DOESNT work in Nebula, only on the leaked Kawaks 1.48 and if you compile you own Mame build, to get this romset, you'll need the bootleg dump: (this is the one that you are prolly using, it came along with its own Mame32 build), then download this patch: marsouillos.free.fr/req/kof2003/kof2003fix.7zthen zip it as kof2003, place it in the folder where Kawaks1.48dev reads the roms, the DONE! and arcade perfect rom of kof2003, with all the blood and transparency effect *credits to romshare.net, and #legacyofroms@newnet |

Don't forget that mame32k also supports the bootleg version and you could probably get the correct romset working with some tweaking.

I run the bootleg version, and I also have kof2003.zip in the roms folder. Do I just simply replace it with the file downloaded from that site? FYI, my rom is originally for MAME. I downloaded patches from kof2003fix.cjb.net/ and now it can be run on Kawaks 1.48. |

FYI, my rom is originally for MAME. Yes, that the rom that you should patch (dont patch it with the one from the site you mentioned)(then DL the patch set from my post above), now you have the CORRECT non-bootleg dump of KOF2003, lots of errors fixed , btw, it can be played with Kawaks1.48DEV |

Sweet, i read about this a while back ago but i was too lazy to search for it hard ;D Thanks alot Buddha, much appreciated. One thing though, i zip the patch up then put it in the roms folder, that didn't really do anything. Shoudn't i put the patch file in the zip with the other kof2k3 bootleg roms? It makes more sense to me, im confused  |

It makes more sense to me, im confused You do know that you HAVE to extract the kof2003fix.7z file first right? (use this tool: www.7-zip.org/), then extract the set of patches AND the initial bootleg romset in the same folder , then run the .bat file, then its automatic from there on , now after the file splitting, patching process is done, you should zip the roms as kof2003 and DONE! |

Hmm, it wouldn't patch correctly due to the fact it couldn't find all the necessary roms. I think i'll just look for the file already patched.

You do know that you HAVE to extract the kof2003fix.7z file first right? Oops, I don't know how to extract it in the first place. I did what Goemon did, that's why I didn't see any differences. I'll download it once I get back to home. BTW, the blood thingie....whenever Iori throws with Forward+D, there is blood shown, even on the bootleg version. So, where else does this correct rom add the blood animation? |

So, where else does this correct rom add the blood animation? main changes, -the "transparency" effect on fire balls, roll trails and lifebars were fixed (yes, the game uses a "fake" transparency effect, kinda pixelated though) -Blood on Iori & leona moves fixed -Uses KOF2003's unique BIOS, there are prolly gonna be dumps in the future of EACH 2k3 bios rom from the different PCB's (euro, usa, japan), for now, the dump uses a JPN bios, so it cant be switched into US, or EUR mode, unless using a Uni-bios -and lastly, the Menu, practice mode bugs in Console mode were fixed |

supposedly now a lot of the new games in 1.48dev are floating around....not that i can find any yet....got a few odd roms like the ms4plus but i still need some individual ones to make a complete set.....anyone got any of the others?...thought we could all try and put our heads together and see if we could find any....no links though guys....only pm's.
