Blargh! I just recently acquired the Kawaks 1.48 dev version but am having problems with it not recognizing the roms I do have. Where is the .dat file that I need to alter?
(I grabbed this one 'cause I tried to just straight-copy my (working) Kawaks from my laptop to my desktop and the 1.46 loader no longer recognizes the games I want to play with it).

you cannot alter any of the games in 1.48 dev.....you want to stick to using 1.46 unless you are using it for kof2003. hullcityfcmad

In that case--can anyone help me diagnose what's wrong with 1.46? It is working just fine on my laptop--no problems at all. I perform a full copy of the directory over to my desktop, and now the loader will NOT recognize the .dat file that I was using before, apparently... I'm at a loss.

^ Exactly the same happened to me when I moved my kawaks 1.46 and rgdckawaks from a ME machine to my current 2000 machine.
Never sorted it so I got mame32k.

Does this have to do with the compatibility setting that u told me before, hullcityfcmad? U know, right click - properties - compatibility tab, etc...
I copied my folder before from my laptop to the desktop as well, and the setting simply reset by itself. So, I just redo it.

the compatibility issue only affects the original hacked 46 not the rgdc one.....but yes if u have the same version as me then it needs to be set on win98/me compatibility mode. hullcityfcmad

Yeah, I have MAME32k. I still don't like it much; I'd rather use Kawaks. Regardless--I don't know which version of Kawaks 1.46 I have, but my laptop is XP and my desktop is 2000... so I don't think I have any '98 compatibility setting to set. At least, I didn't see any.
