Zinc is supposedly an arcade emulator that totally supports 3D games like Tekken series and Rival Schools. i've d/led this emu a while back and i think i have some roms for it (not really sure if they're the RIGHT ones). one question still rests in my mind: How do u work the darned thing!? i'd appreciate if anyone of you have any good tutorial links (the more simple and readable the better or explain it to me. this ain't neo, but i guess the emulation board is the right place to put this. ty

Kikaioh is at least as much fun as Rival Schools, especially if you can understand the stories.
I had a frontend for zinc that simplified things a great deal. I may know a place to get it, though I propably can't post the link here. (Has roms too)
Tekken Tag is dumped and possibly emulated? That is serious news to me. I remember checking on the status of TT back in January, and it seemed nothing new had been done.

SF EX 1 and 2 is also emulated Kikaioh or Tech Romancer rocks, but i'd rather paly the DC version, it has Jin's Bloodia! ;D pus lots of Mini games for VMU's try looking of dafreak's Zinc Frontend btw..

Yeah, well SFEX1+2, Rival Schools, Kikaioh etc. were all system 11 hardware, and long supported by zinc.
But Tekken Tag and Soulcalibur are system 12, and last time I checked (granted several months ago) zinc did not have any releases emulating system 12.

While it would rock, its too bad the DC version was a graphical facelift of the arcade. IE: it is too bad the arcade version doesn't look as good as the DC version --I even discovered it doesn't have all the moves. --likewise for Tekken Tag
But having them emulated is going to rock.

^ Yeah, that blows. One thing though, i use my pc as my main all around entertainment center so i don't mind the graphics downgrade. I've actually never seen SC in an arcade, all i know is the dc version but its all good... I would have though a decent dc emu would be out by now ;D

I just dled the newest version of Zinc, its newest GUI & Aldo's front end to play in windows. After all that crap i still get only a plain black screen... Fuck it. I guess i'll never be able to play rival schools agian

my main beef with zinc is it seems to emulate slowly... games that used to run at an acceptable speed on impact (sfex, rival schools) are unplayably slow with zinc on my pc...
:/ course i do have a 450mhz pentium 3 with a voodoo 3 3000 graphics card and 512mb ram but still it surprised the hell outta me when i found that with any 3d graphics driver zinc runs games that impact handled *well* unbearably slow...

Goemon try choosing a different renderer.znc file. You may be using the wrong one for your video card. To do this try copying one at a time the d3d_renderer.znc, the ogl_renderer.znc and the glide_renderer.znc files over the renderer.znc file and see if this solves your problem. PeteB also has just released his own renderer for zinc. You can also see if his renderer solves your problem. Do a google search to find his website as I do not have it handy.
As for the status of games in Zinc,
1. SF EX 1, SF EX 2 and Namco System 11 Games. Currently playable in current version of Zinc. System 11 games have no sound. However, the unreleased version of Zinc should have sound.
Namco System 12 Games. These games are not contained in the current version of Zinc. Most of these games should be playable in unreleased Zinc with at least some sound. Due to nasty protection do not expect either Soul Calibur or Tekken Tag in the unreleased Zinc.

Thanks dude, i appreciate the advice. I'll go dl all those damn zinc files agian and try the render thing. (also, i can't find PeteB's site. Do you mind posting a link to it?)
