It is a tad annoying.
At least waited ages before asking my first question.

Yeah for sure... I think we all need to help out a little bit more with answering questions actually. There's not much that can be done about one time posters though... apart from making it so only certain member classes can post in the emu section... for instance, only people above "Neo Newbie" can post. I think that's possible, the only thing is that it could possibly encourage spam.
Any ideas? Also, for those that are coming into the forum for the first time, please remember that people are usually more willing to help you out if you have actually been in the forum for a while, helped other people out and maybe made a few other posts. If you just come in, ask a question and never make any attempt to post again, you won't get much help from people.

I try to help out some of the time, but hullcityfcmad is usually there before me.

I'm kinda split on that option, i think its good but then agian the peeps that sign up just to find a rom will then spam in other sections like you mentioned. Maybe we should vote on it I try to help out some of the time, but hullcityfcmad is usually there before me. Same here, he's swift question answering bugger. Never fails to impress.

Yeah I thought it would be a good idea... hope people read it and take notice. As for the idea of only letting people above a certain rank post here, I guess we could take a vote on it. Probably best to leave it for now, and change it if things start to get really bad.

sorry if i offended anyone in this thread... i was a bit pissed then... peace (^_^)V btw Kaz, that "certain amount of posts" thing MAY enocurage useless SPAM, but i think you can handle the BAN command very well, right? j/k ;D .. it's been done on other emu forums i think, so i guess its fine, but i guess thell'y prolly say: "all that hard work on posting, yet rom reqs/links arent allowd?! this BBS sucks!" (again j/k!), get my point?

Maybe only have it for the emu forums, but if people spam merely to raise their levels then maybe a temp or perma bn may be in order.
I know im new and everything but at least I don't make thousands of rom requests and everything.
