Need some clarification with .bin files

Hi, first post ;D

Anyways, i was trying to find the answer to my problem by looking at the stickied posts and searching but i can't identify the answer (most likely because i dont know what everyone is talking about with their loaders/.dat/etc lol).

I downloaded a rom and inside the .zip file all of the files have extensions of .bin and winkawaks1.49 doesn't recognize it when i put it in the roms folder (most likely because the extension is .bin...). So my question is how do i make winkawaks recognize this file? Please explain in layman's terms because I am a neophyte when it comes to emulation

Ok, problem fixed. Apparently i didn't download the neogeo.zip file and put it in my roms folder...that's why samsho4 wasn't showing up lol. Anyways, that was fun
