i'm new, help please! kawaks 1.48dev problems

hi everyone,
it feels good to finally join an emulation forum.

anyways, i have just downloaded and installed kawaks 1.48dev (the kof2003 compatible one)

and once i installed it and ran the program, kawaks refuses to detect these games (which i was playing with no probs on previous versions of kawaks):

I'm afraid no copies of the newer games that are available to the public play on 1.48 dev besides kof 2003. Personally I only use it for that game and play everything else on 1.46 with the loader.

what do you mean kawaks 1.46 and the loader

what separates kawaks 1.46 from the loader?

Basically the loader is another program you can find bundled with kawaks 1.46. When you run it boots up kawaks but replaces the games at the top of it's gamelist with whatever is in the dat file it reads. The dat file tells kawaks what games your are trying to play with it. The loader allows you to play unofficially supported games.

can i use loader 1.46 on a different version of kawaks?
or do i have to use loader 1.46 on kawaks 1.46?

I'm not sure if that's the newest version, but it seems to be the one most people use. Just FYI, the reason these games are not included in the standard version of Kawaks is because there is an unwritten rule that most emu authors go by, where they won't officially support any game that is newer than 1-2 years or so. This is mainly because they don't want to possibly harm sales of the arcade or home versions of the carts, and don't want to run the risk of getting into trouble with SNK. This is why you need the loader... that is a tool that people come up with that (sort of) hacks the emu and adds the extra games in so that you can play them.

We don't tend to get caught up the argument of whether or not you should or shouldnt be playing these games on emulators as it's pointless to do so (and a lot of us do own the actual console anyway)... so feel free to ask any questions you want; the same goes for all new members here, I know there are a few ... provided those questions don't concern where to download games etc... other than that, it's all good pretty much and we all try to help each other if we can

To tell the truth I don't know where you can get it... also, a lot of the links that have that loader also tend to contain roms and stuff, so I can't post a link here anyway. Someone else can perhaps help you out with a private message

Well ok there is Mslug 5 plus. I hate that game though it's too easy.
