Hello all, new to the boards ;D very nice site
I was wondering, how would you have to configure the emulator (Whether it be Nebula or Kawaks) to allow it to display the exact same graphics as in the arcade. (No enhancements in other words.) I have been playing both emulation and arcade, and i have noticed that the graphics in the arcade look very crisp, pixelated and i really can't notice any scanlines, as compared to my computer, which shows the graphics either toooo enhanced, or toooo crappy. So how would set the resolution and all those other options!
Thanks a lot.

Well, the PC monitor has a higher resolution, so if you wanna see reall arcade res, it will be small, but if you wanna "simulate" the arcade look, try this (im reffering to a windowed screen, if you want full screen, try 640x480 reso):
Kawaks
Video > Select Video Blitter... > Software 2x > Plain or Scanlines 50%
Nebula
Video > Window/Fullscreen > No Stretch & keep Aspect checked > Image enhancement > Unfilterd Scanlines 50% or 2x Zoom
hope that helps

make sure you've got triple buffering and interframe blending turned on....i use full scanlines but 50% looks ok too(btw...i use kawaks).i've got a 19 inch monitor and at full screen it looks awesome. hullcityfcmad

I have used my TV out for Neo stuff before and it looked a lot better on the TV, but to be honest I still never looked as good as my proper MVS setup. There really is no way to make an emulator look as good as the real system... play around with the different setting though until you find one that looks good to you - not everyone likes the filtered look etc Kaz

so basically, by using the TV out option, the emulator avoids all those nasty filters that the computer uses. Sounds waay better to me, especially since i use a GeForce card. One more question, what kind of scanlines does the real MVS setup use. Honestly, i played SNK vs Capcom in the arcade and Fatal Fury 2 in my arcade, and the scanlines aren't even noticeable....as much as i tried to get close to the Monitor and see it. As compared to the Scanlines on my emulator, they look very noticeable and really make the game look darker etc. (Maybe it has to do with my memory card)
(This reminds me of how beautiful SF III : Third Strike looked on the CPS III arcade, and how filtered and not as "sharp" it looked on my Dreamcast)

Semi-OT: Have you tried messing around with the graphics settings on booting up SF3:TS? The default setting blurs the graphics somewhat, changing them can make a big difference (although the DC version will never look as good as the arcade version ... ).

yeah i did try messing with those graphic settings (if you mean those that you input in the beginning during the Capcom logo, like interlacing etc.) But i really can't notice the difference, i think never i inputed them right. I have seen the arcade version though, and hot daamn, so beautiful and clear...wow, just like the SVC version. I guess it has to do with the fact that the games were done with the resolution matching the system's resolution.
