I have been hunting high and low for just the emulator that will let me run this great game in kawaks. I simply can't find it.
I have heard of talk of a kawaks 1.46 hack and a few other things, but nothing has lead to fruitation.
If someone would be so kind as to help me out I would appreciate it greatly.

Hello Thiefofdreams and welcome to the forums.
I believe what you may want to search for is something called "the kawaks loader" there is one for almost every version of Kawaks. Next, if the loader didn't come with the required information, open up "ad.dat" or whatever the .dat file is called, and add the SS5 rom info to that dat.
I believe this rom info is posted on this forum in one of the topics, though I'm sure it would not be hard to find using google or other searching device.
The info you would be looking for would look like (made up info for example purposes)
romname: samsho.zip
system: neo
ss5c1.rom crc 1234134123124cdcd2
ss5c2.rom crc 23432`24123534g
(keeps going for whatever files are in the rom archive)
etc. etc.

I don't think kawaks truly supports SS5. Even after I got the dat and rom configured correctly and it ran the graphics were horribly corrupted.

I played it just fine on nebula so there shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't run on kawaks.

you probably had the p1 rom for the neorage version....i'd tell you what the crc is for the kawaks one but i'm at work so i'll post it later...unless someone else can do it.

I played it just fine on nebula so there shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't run on kawaks. That's the bizarre thing, I got the one that came with nebula and the loader and it runs fine there but looks terrible when I run it on kawaks. I got another p1 recently that fixes the glitches in the option menu and again it ran in nebula just fine but no good with kawaks. Edit: Got another copy of the rom and it worked fine. Doesn't make any sense though  |
