The other scenes do have rombeggers to be honest... you could end up with people asking for GBA roms, CPS2 etc etc. I'm still not 100% sure if this is a good idea yet, but we'll give it a little longer and I'll think more about it One other thing though - we'd have to make yet another forum section to put the two emulation sections into, and leave the standard neo section on its own. This means splitting things up even more, and I dunno if that is a good idea as it might make things more confusing... Kaz ps who doesn't know what a Neo Geo or emulation is then? Come on... own up!

Thats why i suggested just turning this neo-emu section into a broad emu section. Though it seems some members wouldn't like that so maybe we should just leave things as they are and maybe post other emu stuff in the unrelated discussion section if at all?

Add a section in the unrelated stuff under non-neogeo gaming

It would still need to be moved out of the neo geo section of the forum though, and put into its own section... so it wouldnt make too much difference really. I'm still thinking that it would be better if people just posted occasionally about emulators that they have tried in unrelated gaming discussion or whatever, and to just leave it like that. Opening up a general emu section will probably *not* encourage general chat about classic games and stuff, it is more likely to encourage people to sign up, ask a question about getting something to work... and then when they solve their problem (after someone has taken time to help), sign back out and never come here again. It happens in the Neo section a fair bit, but it will be more likely to happen with another emu section. That's my 2 cents anyway Kaz

Sounds like a fine idea to me, just posting non-neo related emu stuff in the unrelated gaming discussion. That should reduce the amount of annoyances that an official general emu section may cause. I suppose my Ps2 emulator thread should be moved there then.

After reading everyone's reply I have since changed my vote and opinion. I was once like many of the newbies looking to get into the emulation scene for neo. I aked people for help and many answered how can I be hypocritical. There is still alot of things I would like to learn as well rare games that are undiscovered diamonds in the rough not just for neo but snes sega and mame. I could name atleast 10 snes rpgs that are excellent that have never seen the light of day in english speaking countries but have since been translated. Besides raiken is right I am member of about 8 boards only for other information wether it be gba snes sega mame or general emulation talk. I rarely vist them just for the lastest news.

how about making a thread "Non-neo emulation"(or some title similar to that) in the Neo-Geo Emulation section? or better yet put it in non-neo gaming discussion (come to think of it, it would fit in that section)

let me make it clear: meaning make a thread called "Non Neo-Geo Emulation" (or something similar to that) in either the Neo Emulation section or Non Neo-Geo Gaming Discussion (though it might fit in non Neo-geo gaming discussion best). Since the board's primary focus would be on Neo-Geo, other kinds of emulation might only be a thread or two worth.

Making one thread for all general emulation would get messy if everyone is talking about different things and games.
I think that for the time being it is indeed the best idea as Kaz mentioned. Ading the unrelathed emutalk to the other general gaming section. For my part it will be mostly what new games have been emulated and stuf that everyone really has to check out and worth playing.

I am a new member who came here looking for help with NG roms/emus, but I think that none related NG stuff should be kept seperate from the NG stuff at the very least.
Sukotsuto, I don't suppose you know what the mecha in the Seizurebots link is? I have a creepy feeling I used to have a big model of it as a child! And what is that crazy sig-picture?
And Kaz, nice Beastman/Skeletor sig-pic!
