As the topic said. Obviously a lot of people here are interested in emulation, but we only currently have a section for emulation talk that is related to the Neo Geo. Should we add a section for this kind of thing, or should we keep things as they are? Place your vote and we'll make a decision on this soon depending on how members feel. t be honest, i dont care either way...  i think we should foucus on GAMING here, cuz there are a lot of other forums which will provide better disscusions regarding emulaiton  |

My vote was no. It is bad enough people just come here for neo geo roms and not to particapate in other discussions imagine when we start talking about gba emulation, dreamcasts isos, and the emulator for the ps2 and gamecube which by the way is coming along nicely. You can tell rom leechers by the number of reads on particular threads of ssv and svc. People I dont even know email me asking for roms. Let it stay neo or your in for a big headache.

I kind of feel the same way, even though it would be nice to have a place to discuss other stuff. Anyways, this is why I put the poll up so I can get an idea of what the general feeling amongst members is. Keep the comments coming! Kaz |

Yeah, it has it´s + sides and its - sides.
Emulation is bound to always atract leechers no matter where you place the line.
But if that´s the only downside, then i am for a general emulation section.
Not for going indepth on the rommatters nor how to get a rom to work in an emulator, but for all the awesome arcade games that so many members are missing out on and are truelly worth playing on your MAME,Raine or even your supernes emu.
There are so many wonderfull titles that can be discussed about, how to get to a boss, the music it has or more titles from pro´s like Cave or Psykio
Besides, neogeo emulation is the hardest to get to work.
Games that can be played on Znes, MAME or a gameboy advance emu, are all standart made for those emulators...or rather the emu´s are made to just play those games without hard things to pull like when you try to play the new neogeo games.
I really don´t think we´ll be having tons of trouble with people that want roms for their MAME or Supernes, nor trouble with people that can´t get their fav arcade game to work on Raine or MAME.
Like i said before, the games in general work on the emulators that are made for those games.

i don't see the need for a general emu forum....the sites a neo geo site and should really stay that way,as buddah-kun said there's other sites about for general emulation queries.

Yes that´s true, many other forums and sites are out there also.
But seeing as the members get along ok in here and we all love gaming...being SNK games or regular arcade games......it would be nice to share our gaming info and what you love on other emu platform.
I myself for example am a big Shoot em up fan and totally worship the shooters from Cave and Raizin.
Now it would be great to share that with other members here and discuss those games and their emulation.
All members over here are cool people that no one has problems with,keeping the emu chats in here instead of running off to some other forum would be nice, as i am sure there are a lot of general emu fans that use more than just kawaks,nebula or neorage.
Sure it´s a neo site but doesn´t it also have an anime section, or a general discusion section or a non neogeo gaming section?

I voted to just change the neo-emu section into an emu-sec cause imo there's not quite enough non-neo emulaltion talk that would happen to make a whole nother section but i do think somewhere to discuss general emulation is needed. About annoying people p.m.ing & emailing asking for roms & such, i don't think there will be too many people signing up just to ask a non-neo emulation question cause there are plenty more sites out there for that.

I don´t want a General Emu Section. There is no need for it. There are lots of Sites where you can look up something, and also the leeching Members, they come here, post once and then they never care about this Site again! Well, it mustn´t always be Leechers, but you know what I mean. This is a great Step to messing this Forum up. For me, we have enough Sections, if we get one more, then we will get more afterwards and then one more and on more. That´s crap!
Most important Reason for not having a General Emu Sec.:..........well, look at the Name of this Site.
This Site is not for giving Info about any Emulation, it´s for reading reviews of the great NeoGeo Games.

I don't like going to a lot of different forums thus having our own emulation section would be nice to add, also to keep members happy in a general way and spanding the info we have here on everything we got going in the forums. |
