First off, just want to say 'hey!' I'm a newbie. I have to say, I've just recently got into the whole Neo Geo and SNK fighting game scene, and I'm loving it! Played almost all of the KofF series... currently REALLY enjoying '99... that one is NIIIIICE! Also got into Garou (yes I know the game is old) and that's one helluva game, too! Anyway, what I'm basically wondering is if anyone else here is currently playing all their Rom's or whatnot... are you guys really playing all these games? Personally, I've put my PS2 down for a min (aside from Hyper SF2 and SvC Chaos!) and am mostly playing these Neo Geo roms... lovin every second... A question about the roms though.. I've DL'ed about 8 versions of KofF2000, and none of them work on any of my emulators... I'm talking NeoRage, Kawaks... It loads, but then I get really messed up graphics... Is there a known issue with this ROM? I'll post where I got one of 'em, but I don't know if I can do that yet... (Can I?) Oh, and I have SS5, but no way to play it... Can't find a loader for that one either.... Anyhow, I'm looking forward to coming to this forum more... you guys all seem cool, and with my new love for SNK... I see a marriage made in heaven...

Welcome to neogeo. You have arrived at a great time. I have 5 emulators on my computer, snes,mame32,gba and nes and I play kawaks the most. For fighting fans neo geo is the only system the caters to your needs. Personally I suggest a couple you might of overlooked, nija masters, waku waku 7, rage o fthe dragons, power instinct matrimelee, last blade 2 and leaving the best for last samurai shodown 1-5. Those are just the fighters. Snk was founded in the late eighties but still hold their value over time. Basically timeless. There was a time when arcades still existed and samurai shodown ruled sumpreme. This is a great forum on all things neo geo also a good refence is Kazuya's review page on most neo geo games.

Cool man, I appreciate the warm welcome!
Is there a place where we can list collections? Like... this ROM thing has basically become a hobby for me... and I'd like to post my collection so people can add to it like you just did! I'm def. going to look for matrimelee, as I've heard it's great... but aren't there large problems with it?
Fighting game wise, I have my copy of MAME with SFA2, SFA3, UMK3, MK2, MvC, MvSF, The Simpsons... all games I've played over and over in arcades during my teenage years... I remember not playing much SNK after AOF 1 and SS1... So I'm catching up and remembering why I loved those games!
Wait... isn't there also a game called World Heroes? Whatever happened with that?

Hi, welcome to the forums, hope you have fun here! Listing a rom collection probably isn't a great idea, cos technically you are gonna be listing a collection of pirated games, so I wouldn't recommend you do that . Granted, a lot of the games you mention might be old and emulation is great for remembering a lot of old games, but some of the ones you mentioned are quite new (like SS5). It's ok to discuss them here and talk about them being emulated, but probably not a good idea to talk about all the roms you have on your HD. Just a friendly piece of advice ;D Kaz ps your avatar isn't working - I noticed you are linking it off Gamegens site, and that won't work. You'll need to save the image and post it to some of your own webspace, or if you have any problems with that, let me know via private message and I'll try to help.

Hi, welcome to the forums, hope you have fun here! Listing a rom collection .... Ok man, thanks for the thoughts! I'll fix the avatar when I can... I guess GameGen doesn't allow direct linking. Is there a place where people trade rom lists and such? I want to start a collection! Oh... also guys... check out this thread: kazuyauk.proboards16.com/index.cgi?board=unrelateddiscussion&action=display&thread=1072802381. I'm looking for anyone possible to help me out... Thanks!

I don't know of any places where you could trade rom lists or anything, and besides it is probably too risky as if you are doing stuff like that in public then you are likely to get busted. If you do stuff privately via email with other members here or somewhere else then that is cool as it's your own business, but we can't really allow anyone to do it here as that would in effect be roms links.

Hi, If you would like lists of available roms for the different type of emulators, you should check this link: caesar.logiqx.comIt has a wealth of information on the available roms for each emulator and sometimes pictures and descriptions of the games. It also lists the roms needed for the emulator in question. Regards, Frugal.

Wow frugal, thanks for that site! It's been hell trying to do the emu scene again, as I used to go straight to mame.dk to find the file names and such for specific games.... That site helps a ton! Great stuff, you rock!
