Ever since KOF 99, SNK have encrypted their games to make them harder to dump. As we all know, that encryption was all but beaten a long time ago so it doesn't make much difference anymore, but all the newer games still have it. The encrypted dumps are identical to what you would find on the carts themselves, while the decrypted ones are... well, already decrypted Basically, if you have en encrypted set, this will take up more memory on our PC as the emulator has to decrpyt the roms on the fly, and loading will take longer, depending on what spec PC you have. If you have a pre-decrypted set, then the emulator won't have to do the extra work, hence faster loading times. They wouldn't bother having decrypted sets online at all if all PC's could load them, but the decrypted sets are just faster if you have a low-spec machine. FYI, if you have an encrpyted set, you can get Kawaks to turn the gfx roms into decrpyted ones for you by using an option in the emulator. See the Kawaks readme for more info on that Kaz

I wish I had the Vs, generally even before I play a rom, I'll cycle through the music in jukebox and rip some excellent neogeo synthesized music.
I noticed, that there are many many of the same sound samples shared between music in KOF2k2 and SVC. I wonder if KOF2k3 will be at all the same?

Yes makaveli it doesn't matter wether its encryted or not if its dumped it can still be emulated.
Anyways just cause we got SS5 on christmas doesn't mean much, lots of people had it for a long time already before somebody decided to release it, kof 2k3 is still quite new and new years or not i would be quite supprised if we don't atleast have to wait a few more weeks. New years is a party day and not gift giving anyways ;D

Yes, but the encrypted (I think) Roms are way bigger than the decrypted! (or reverse??!) Well, one is bigger! Kind of - the actual roms are about the same size I think, it's just that they don't compress too well when you zip them up, due to the encryption. The zip files you get will be bigger because of this. I was about to kill you for posting rom links then . I wonder how many people won't read the rest of what you said? Kaz

Hehe Well, I downloaded the vids just to see if there were any new ones, but its just the ones that were posted on that other site (the short combo ones), and the pics off BillyJr's site. Still very cool if you haven't seen them before however, so check them out if not. Kaz
